Happy Monday everyone and welcome back to Music Monday! Let’s share some songs we’ve been enjoying lately! If you would like to play, and I really hope you do, please see the rules and link up below HERE
Santana was an ear opener for me and made me appreciate the depth of music so much more than I had used to…or maybe that was the Marijuana I was smoking. Santana was the first concert I ever went to and did partake of the joints that were being passed around. Someone would light it and it would be passed from person to person, row to row, until another one came around. I was quite the novice and could hardly walk out when it was over. LOL

Hello fellow bloggers. A belated Happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrate the holiday.
I will be getting up in the attic in the next day or two to start decorating for Christmas. I feel the world needs some sparkle and there are never enough twinkles to light up the house. We are thinking of an artificial tree this year, at least I am. I think it is time. I’m getting older and it seems every time I turn around I have an issue with some ache or pain. It gets harder to crawl around in the attic, yet I will continue to do so… How about you? Have you started decorating? Finished? Don’t celebrate?
I got the idea and the motivation to start doing Tackling The TBR from All The Book Blog Names Are Taken.
It has helped me to keep track of my reading shelf as far as current
events and I also started doing a post for Books From The Backlog,
from Carole’s Random Life in Books,
to tidy up my shelves. I feel better about my out of control TBR and
have even knocked off a couple of those old ones that had been
hanging around for years.
Join us for this tour from Nov 23 to Dec 11, 2020!
Book Details:
Book Title: Prospector’s Run by Kevin W. Bates Category: Adult Fiction (18 yrs +), 277 pages Genre: Science Fiction Publisher: Kevin W. Bates Release date: April 2019 Tour dates: Nov 23 to Dec 11, 2020 Content Rating: PG for mild profanity and some depictions of violence.
Book Description: Five thousand years ago in a savage assault, someone tried to annihilate humanity. They almost succeeded. Now, millennia after the First Stellar Civilization’s cataclysmic destruction, humans have clawed their way back from the brink of extinction and returned to the stars. Massive
riches in the form of forgotten tech lie hidden in the ruins of the First Civ’s dead, shattered worlds. For a prospector with luck and the right coordinates, they are ripe for the taking. Holtz Mitsumi has neither. Down and out from a failed expedition, Mitsumi allows an enigmatic stranger to talk him into one more prospecting run. After scraping together a crew, Mitsumi embarks with high hopes. But nothing is as it seems and this run may be his last.
Kevin W. Bates was born in Berkeley, California and, with the exception of a couple year stint in Sydney Australia and a study abroad program in Japan, was raised there. In his Martin Luther King Jr. High and Berkeley High School years, Kevin developed a life-long fascination with science fiction (and, oddly, nuclear weapons) and a tendency to day dream. He discovered early that among the greatest joys in life is the thrill of losing yourself in a gripping space adventure soaring across the galaxy. Raised on classic science fiction authors such as Isaac Asimov, Arthur C. Clarke, and Ray Bradbury, Kevin took up writing science fiction to provide the same mind expanding thrills he enjoyed from those authors and more contemporary ones like Alastair Reynolds, Iain M. Banks, David Brin and Neal Stephenson.
Books from the Backlog is a fun way to feature some of those
neglected books sitting on your bookshelf unread. If you are anything
like me, you might be surprised by some of the unread books hiding in
your stacks.
The cover below is from Goodreads. I didn’t find a website, twitter…for her, but I didn’t look REAL hard. I like the second cover from Amazon better. How about you?
For seventeen-year-old Abigail, one rash decision leads to an unexpected chance for redemption. At V’Salicus Academy, a unique institute where she trains to become an agent of heaven, she struggles with the pain of her past, the changes of the present and accepts a loveless future until her path – and heart – crosses with Basil’s.
Basil’s off-chance slip of the tongue binds him to a life of servitude to the Devourer, the master of hell. His existence has no upside until a chance meeting with Abigail brings new perspective.
Keeping the truth of their present lives from each other brings disaster when secrets are brought to light and the life of Abigail’s mentor is put on the line.
Can Abigail and Basil save her mentor and salvage their love amid the chaos? Or will they lose it all, destined forever to NEVERLOVE?
Well, it looks like in my click happy days I grabbed a lot of YA. But, what are Shadow Jumpers? I added this to my TBR on 10.25.12, but didn’t pick it up from Amazon until 12.27.12. I am looking forward to finding out what Shadow Jumpers are in this mutiracial culture with a interracial romance. Sounds different from a lot of my reads and I am always on the lookout for that. How about it? Does it appeal to you?
City of Ghosts by J H Moncrieff is a predictable, at times realistic, horror story that had me rapidly flipping the pages as Jackson Stone was chosen to tell a ghostly tale of pain, anger and vengeance.
GOODREADS BLURB
Winner of the 2018 Kindle Book Review Award for best Horror/Suspense.
On the day the villagers were forced to flee Hensu, not everyone got out alive.
Jackson Stone is touring the abandoned Chinese city when he slips away from the group to spend the night, determined to publish an account of his ghostly experiences there.
Then he meets Yuèhai, a strange, soft-spoken woman who can tell him the city’s secrets—secrets the Chinese government would kill to keep hidden.
As Jackson uncovers the truth about Yuèhai and the ghost city, he’s drawn into a web of conspiracy, betrayal, and murder. He must risk everything to save himself and bring honor back to Yuèhai and her family.
The Dalya series by Katie Zaber needs to be read in order.
Below Dark Waters is told by three points of view.
Princess Mega is on the run, with her friends by her side, running from her father, who wants her dead. Does it get much worse that that?
Carmia is a free spirit, an adventurer. She felt the call of the sea and had Octavia built so she could take to the sea, where she felt at home. A woman pirate, gotta love it. She is on the hunt for treasure, leaving her family behind, though they didn’t miss her much.
Lily…love her. She is a master of disguise.
Seeing this is Book II, I don’t want to spoil the wonder of Princess Megan’s world. I want to be at her side, saving children, being taken to an underwater world where evil is afoot, growing, changing, evolving into the leader she never asked or wanted to be. She has devoted, loyal friends and gathers more, as they see her for who she is, a warrior, a fair and determined woman who knows right from wrong. She grabs what moments of happiness and love that are at her fingertips, knowing she may have to sacrifice her own desires and do the right thing for their worlds to survive and prosper.
The end is not here and I can hardly wait to see where we go to next.
I voluntarily reviewed a free copy of Below Dark Waters by Katie Zaber.
GOODREADS BLURB
Princess Megan, who never had a reason to assume she was anything but human, has been on the run, protected by her friends. With each step toward the city of Delmont, she hopes they will have time to regroup before setting sail to the Ka’Pamau Islands, their final destination. Instead, her bad luck shadows her and chaos continues to ensue everywhere she goes—including a new part of the world that most air breathers have yet to explore.
Confronted with another royal family and a smitten prince whose advances turn cold, she faces another life-altering decision with ramifications she can’t possibly begin to guess at.
Back on land, Lilly reveals more of her secrets, her story, and her goals. Monumental changes and challenges are headed her way as she embraces her new role in life.
On the sea, Aunt Carmia is stirring up trouble while continuing her hunt for the treasure she most desires. She experiences upheavals, but she is always prepared for the unknown.
As their stories unfold, they remain unaware how fate connects them in the world of Dalya

Lyrics
Tonight they’re shutting down the borders And they boarded up the schools Small towns are rolling up their sidewalks One last paycheck coming through I know you’re feeling kind of nervous We’re all a little bit confused Nothing’s the same, this ain’t a game We gotta make it throughAs we wave outside the window Older loved ones stay inside Moms and babies blowing kisses May be saving someone’s life They had to cancel graduation It ain’t fair to Skype the prom Our kids sit home in isolation TV news is always onWhen you can’t do what you do You do what you can This ain’t my prayer, it’s just a thought I’m wanting to send ‘Round here, we bend but don’t break Down here, we all understand When you can’t do what you do You do what you canThe chicken farm from Arkansas Bought workers PPE Not before 500 more Had succumbed to this disease Honest men and honest women Working for an honest wage I got a hundred point one fever And we still got bills to payWhen you can’t do what you do You do what you can This ain’t my prayer, it’s just a thought I’m wanting to send ‘Round here, we bend but don’t break Down here, we all understand When you can’t do what you do You do what you canThey built a hospital on East Meadow In Central Park last night Doctors, nurses, truckers, grocery store Clerks manning the front lines I saw a Red Cross on the Hudson They turned off the Broadway lights Another ambulance screams by (screams by) If by the grace of God, go IAlthough I’ll keep my social distance What this world needs is a hug Until we find the vaccination There’s no substitute for love So love yourself and love your family Love your neighbor and your friend Ain’t it time we loved the stranger They’re just a friend you ain’t met yet OhWhen you can’t do what you do You do what you can (do what you can) This ain’t my prayer, it’s just a thought I’m wanting to send ‘Round here, we bend but don’t break Down here, we all understand When you can’t do what you do You do what you can When you can’t do what you do You do what you can

Hello fellow bloggers. Today, Saturday, is a beautiful day. The sun is shining and there is a light breeze. I’m watching some college football. It is such a trip. So many games keep getting cancelled or postponed because of Covid. The pandemic has been a boon for some of the lesser teams. I mean, who would think that Liberty and Coastal Carolina would be ranked higher than Michigan. Oh, and Jimmy, sorry, but you have to go. Michigan has been playing terrible. The coaching sucks and the players act like they just don’t care. It’s been interesting watching, but the National Championship? I love that they are playing, but I think it is ridiculous, as the pandemic rages across the country.
I am getting down about not being able to go to the beach and grab some wings at Hooters, watching the waves break on the beach or going to my favorite Mexican restaurant.
Of course, I keep forgetting to share my Hurricane Sally photos, but the hurricane took out the new bridge to the beach and it is about an hour there and back. It will be like that for the next six months. So glad we decided not to live on the beach. Maybe we’ll hop down to Perdido Bay and do our Christmas photo this year, instead of Pensacola Beach.
Mr Wonderful has been working a lot of freelance. They held the Sunbelt Soccer and Volleyball tournaments over in Alabama, which is close to us. I am sure this was only done because of Covid, but with him being out of work and his last paycheck coming in December, we will gladly take it. This is one of those situations, when a door closes a window opens.
Even though it may not feel like it right now, this too shall pass. So keep the faith and stay safe.

I read books from my TBR, and some that were in Documents on my KIndle, but not any of those under currently reading, which are mostly review books. My mood is BLAH, but I plan on knocking some review books out this coming week.
