Sherry’s Shelves 9.3 – 9.9.23 #WeeklyUpdate

Hi Everyone. Hope you had a good week. I had a great reading week, making it through ten books. I read and read and read until my eyes crossed. I did get some reviews written and will spend some time next week catching up. I now have my review list under ten books and working on November. I’m still doing a lot of tours. I just can’t help myself. Other than that, it has been a quiet week. The weather seems to have cooled off. I haven’t seen the nineties for a couple of days now. LOL I hope you have a great week coming up and I would love to know what you’ve been up to, what you’ve read, and what you have coming up.

R I P Jimmy Buffett

Ya can’t go into a bar on the Gulf Coast without hearing a Jimmy Buffett song. We have seen him numerous times and it was always a pleasure to sing along and share the love. I love his passion for the Gulf Coast and conservation. He will be missed.

Hi Everyone. It’s been a pretty quiet week. We had anticipated some fallout from Hurricane Idalia, so we burnt the ‘twig’ pile and Mr Wonderful got the generator going. It’s best to be prepared. We are always stocked up on some essentials, with a supple of soup for me and canned ravioli with vienna sausages (ew) for Mr Wonderful. Our thought go out to those who were in Idalia’s path. It could have been us, though nothing happened here. I had not added water to the pool, or worried about cleaning it, because I figured I would have to do that after the story. I ended up adding water and it was a quick cleanup because it missed us.

We had a friend from Atlanta stop by…and a friend here in Pensacola that we haven’t seen in a while.. I am quite the loner, nowadays, but it was good to see them and I had a great time visiting.

The college football season is starting off with a rousing blowout win for my Wolverine.

Hi Everyone. This has been a quiet week, with Mr Wonderful doing some freelance, me reading and reading and reading, and binging on more Lucifer. I see some great movies coming up once I have finished the Lucifer series. I love Tom Ellis as Lucifer. All I have to do is look at his face and it puts a smile on mine. Do you have a series or movie you watch over and over because of a specific character that intrigues you? Have a great week.

Sherry’s Shelves – 8.6 – 8.12.23 #weeklyupdate #sundaymemes

Hi Everyone. I have been hit and miss on some of my weekend posts, but that is to be expected, during the summer season, especially. We had friends over and took a quick road trip. It is still sooo hot, that we don’t do much outside. We did some organizing in the garage and I am very happy with it. What we haven’t done will have to wait until it cools off. We had some ants visit us and that ticked me off so bad, I got the poison out. I never found how they got in, but one dose and an ant trap and I haven’t seen any since. So, we organized the spice shelves and the cupboard beside them. Mr Wonderful will be working some freelance, so I’ll probably binge on some Lucifer….AGAIN. I just can’t seem to help myself. I love the character soooo much. I am so happy that football season has come. We are trying to figure out if we can get everything we have now, if we drop cable. I watch a lot of cable TV and I don’t want to miss my programs. Plus, I have contour, so even if I’m out of town, I can watch…most of my shows. They do block some. BUT, the cost is becoming ridiculous. AND, the service…I don’t think they care any more. It seems they have a – take it or leave it – attitude. We shall see.

Hi Everyone. We have rain, and more rain, and more rain….What’s up with all the rain? It is thundering out right now and I can see the black clouds rolling in….again. When will it ever stop? At least it cooled down the pool water, but it feels like a sauna as soon as I step outside the door. Mr Wonderful did talk me into a quick trip over to Biloxi. I did have a good time and brought home more cash than I took over, so that’s always a win! That’s been my week, other than reading and blogging. Have a great week.

Sherry’s Shelves 7.2 – 78.23 #weeklyupdate

Hi Everyone. Well, we had an AC issue. When we had our old AC unit, we never had this happen, but now it seems a yearly occurrence. Our drain line that runs outside gets clogged, with SNOT. The line is underground, so we have to dig it up. Now, we lost the plug that goes into the end so rain water doesn’t back up into it. Isn’t it always something? Otherwise, I have been reorganizing our garage and I am ticked at myself that I didn’t take before photos. Have my fingers crossed that Mr Wonderful did. It’s very hot, so I am doing it in small doses and binge watching some of my favorite TV. For the week before the Fourth of July it was Below Deck. Have you ever watched it? I love it and if I would have seen something like this when I was in my teens and twenties, I would have been all over it. Nuff said, I am off for my binge watching while Mr Wonderful is working at the Pensacola Blue Wahoos.

Mr Wonderful went to the beach for the Blues yesterday, but with 100+ heat index, and being out there from 7AM to 3PM, I was afraid I wouldn’t last, so he I waved bye and clicked on the TV. 🙂

Sherry’s Shelves 6.25 – 7.1.23 #weeklyupdate

Hi Everyone. Another week is gone. Where DOES the time go? Even though we had some rain, we had some great weather too. HOT HOT HOT! But, the pool is still refreshing. For how long? It was ninety degrees yesterday and I loved it. We did have one year when the water got so hot, we put a sprinkler in that was hooked to the hose. Here in Florida, that doesn’t really do much. The water out of the hose can be like mild bath water. I’m not complaining, just talking…Mr Wonderful was busy…

When the head pops up I find myself cracking up, over & over again. HA HA HA HA HA

Sherry’s Shelves 6.18 – 6.24.23 #weeklyupdate

Hi Everyone. Hope you had a good week. Mine was pretty quiet. We had a pool issue, a broken pipe, but Mr Wonderful was able to fix it (fingers crossed). He just finished it up and it will need to sit for twenty four hours before we can test it out. Thank goodness we found it was a backwash pipe, so we are able to run the pool. Other than that, I got on a reading binge…not reviewing…so I am playing catch up. I still have a few to go. We did hop over to Biloxi for a couple of days, but weren’t able to play any golf. I don’t know if I could have anyway, seeing it is so hot. We have had a week of severe weather and I am over it! I used to love the afternoon thunderstorms, but something seems different now. They don’t pass quickly and I think that me getting older makes them not so enjoyable any more. Right now we are watching some soccer, the US and Jamaica, and some national baseball playoffs, Florida and LSU. Well, I guess that’s about it, so see ya later and have a good week.
