Review Policy

My review policy is my own and I try to keep it simple. I am not a paid reviewer. My reviews are my own opinion and are honest and unbiased. The reviews are original content and owned by me.

I love to read mysteries, thrillers and horror. Creature books are a special favorite of mine. My appetite for books does not limit me to these genres. Ebooks are great and my Kindle loves them, but I love the feel of paper and holding the book in my hand, so receiving paperbacks and hardcovers are always greatly appreciated.

I have been very pleasantly surprised at the quantity and quality of the independent authors I have come across since joining Goodreads and starting my blog. I devour a lot of books that I love and think are great, so to receive five stars from me, I want to be awed, amazed and talking about the book for days or weeks after I have finished it. And believe me, I will spread the word. 😈

I rarely mention editing, as I read a lot of ARCs.

I love reviewing books and if you would like me to review your book, please email me at the address below. If submitting a request for review, please send as much information as possible, such as links, trailers…….so I may see if it is something that is a good fit.

When contacting me, please let me know how you discovered me.

  • Please allow 4 to 8 weeks for the review
  • ARCs will be posted around the release date
  • Please let me know how you found me.

  2. Dear Sherry,
I’m C. Lee McKenzie, a middle grade author in search of reviewers who, like you, are kind enough to give their time to read and review. What you do for authors is amazing, and I appreciate that you’re out there.

I saw that you reviewed one my friend’s books (Joshua and the Arrow Realm) and I hoped that my newest book, Sign of the Green Dragon, would be of interest to you. It’s also an adventure/fantasy aimed at readers who are 8-12, but my adult readers are loving it. The word count is 38,000 and it published August 3.

    Here’s a short description:

Three plucky sleuths. A crumbling skeleton. A quest.
Sam’s finally fitting into his new home. He’s the one kid with enough talent to hit the winning home run and bring the baseball trophy back to Haggarty Elementary. But Sam’s uncle is shipping him off to boarding school.

When his two teammates hear the bad news, they plot to hide him until the big game. Their secret cave is a perfect place until an earthquake shatters a wall and reveals a wooden chest with a red-eyed dragon carved into its top. Inside, a bony hand clutches a map with a cryptic note, promising treasure.

With his teammates, Sam sets off to track down the clues and find that treasure. But nothing goes as they hope.

I’m including the Amazon link if you’d like to read the full description and early reviews.  https://www.amazon.com/Sign-Green-Dragon-Lee-McKenzie/dp/1532721250/ref=tmm_pap_swatch_0

I, like my characters, am on a quest. I hope you can help me succeed as well as they do. If you’re available, I’d love to send you a free digital copy of the book to review. Please let me know if I can send the book your way.

    Gratefully yours,

    C. Lee McKenzie

  3. Hi, I would very much like to be considered for a book review. I actually have two eBooks that I would like to submit for your consideration.

The first is called “Once Bitten, Twice Die”. It was my first book from a post-apocalyptic horror series with vampires as well as the rampaging infected ‘zombies’. I self-published it in 2015 and currently have an agent pitching it to various media companies in the hope of getting an adaptation for TV.

I’m also working on the prequel – a sprawling, epic, historic vampire thriller series, which my agent is also pitching. This is not yet published, so I’m keen for beta reads / ARC. With my agent pitching the TV adaptation of both, a little buzz about them would undoubtedly help.
The book blurb for both is below.

Many thanks for your time, best wishes and season’s greetings,
    Antony J. Stanton

“Once Bitten, Twice Die” – by Antony J. Stanton

A cure for dementia has disastrously failed. Patients are left crazed, infectious and enraged. The ensuing carnage quickly spreads the disease, and civilisation is decimated.

On London’s outskirts a military base shelters some survivors. The soldiers within must battle against the infected who now roam unchallenged. Tensions are high, relationships fraught, death commonplace.

But if they thought the end of the world was bad enough, their troubles have only just begun…

An ancient menace has long existed in secret alongside humanity – a vampire clan, which has recently encountered the soldiers. Now is their time to emerge from the shadows. First though they have to overcome their own problems. They too have to fight for survival against the infected, and they violently disagree on their approach towards the humans.

Hostilities are rising. It’s only a matter of time now…

    “Wings of the Dragon”

The fifteenth century, war in Europe rages between East and West, between Christian and Muslim.

Constantinople is under siege by Sultan Mehmed the Conqueror and his Ottoman horde.

This is a time of knights and heroes, of conquest and Crusade, of love and life in the bloodiest of human eras.

A time when Vlad Dracula, ruler of Wallachia, was head of the secretive and dreaded Order of the Dragon.

A time when men fear and obey him, and he, in turn, fears and obeys the dark masters that he himself serves.

For this is a time of the darkness that dwells just below the surface. A darkness spread across the planet.

This is a time of vampire.
