Sherry’s Shelves #147 – The Olympics #Olympics

.

Sherry’s Shelves #145 is my weekly update from February 4 – February 10, 2018.

Sunday Post #201 Countdown to Spring..

.

Hi all. Hope everyone had a great week. I love sports of all kinds, so I will definitely be watching the Olympics…in fact, I have already been watching it. How about you? Do you have a favorite sport or athlete that you cheer for?

Here’s a pic of me and Tommy Moe, an Olympic skier that came to Bristol Mountain in Rochester New York to ski with Mr Wonderful’s racing team. Of course…no one could hold a candle to him.

.

.

Mr Wonderful likes to get up close and personal, and I don’t know why I didn’t think to sit on his lap. He is such a cutie and hung around to have some beers afterwards. Gotta love a man who enjoys skiing, brews and hanging out.

REVIEW BOOKS

I have been reading Jon Land for a long time now and am super excited to read his first foray into Jessica Feltcher’s world of Murder She Wrote.

I read Any Witch Way by Dylan Newton and loved it. I am super excited to get my hands on Despite The Fangs and read more of her work. She also sent me a lovely note, bookmark and a pencil.

  1. I love the Winter Olympics! My favourites are snowcross, skicross, moguls, biathlon, cross country skiing, short track, speed skating, parallel…the only things I never watch are ice hockey (my eyes can’t follow the puck!) figure skating and the snowboarding things like aerial and halfpipe.

    • I am excited about reading it. Loving that cover and wicked critters are usually great reading.

  2. Bring on all the Olympics lol- I love watching! I’ll be checking out as much of the ski jumping and downhill stuff as I can…

Love that cover for Cold Pursuit. Hope your reads are all good this week… 🙂

    • That stuff blows my mind. the jumpers don’t see to fall, but the wind is sure playing havoc with them. I love the slaloms and I have my fingers crossed that they don’t fall down. Sure will hurt. Watched the slope style boarders and saw Red win. Very exciting.

I feel I have some great reads coming up and Toni Anderson has some fantastic covers. I love Cold Pursuit too.

    • Yep, he is really a laid back, no attitude kind of guy. Cool, Kimberly. I really need to get on board with the audio. My sources say, “The sun will shine”. 🙂

  3. That’s wonderful! I didn’t know you were in the NY area. I’m from Syracuse… and I can honestly tell you that I don’t miss the winters there. My favorite winter Olympic sport is figure skating. I just love watching them glide on the ice and do all those heart-stopping routines.

    • I moved to Florida in 2008 after ten years in Rochester. I was ready for warm weather, but I loved it while I was there. I watch a lot of the figure skating too. Watched Shaun White win another gold in the half pipe last night. I have been rooting for him since the beginning. Looking forward to a lot more.
