Thankfully our flight from Dallas to Vancouver was uneventful.
The obnoxious kid and his family went in a different direction, which so far, was the highlight of my day..

BOOK BEGINNINGS

Dear Mr Stewart,

By way of introduction, let it suffice to say for now, that I am a historian and amateur archeologist in Skagway Alaska.
My studies have led meto some documents that are linked to your great-great grandfather, John D Stewart, a prospector during the Alaskan Gold Rush.
.

SYNOPSIS.
.Ox and Judy are off to Alaska on a honeymoon cruise and invite Walt and Maggie to tag along.
Their vacation plans are soon shipwrecked by the murder of two fellow passengers.
The murders appear to be linked to a century-old legend involving a cache of gold stolen from a prospector and buried by two thieves.
Their seven day cruise is spent hunting for the gold and eluding the modern day thieves intent on possessing it at any cost.
Another nail-biting mystery that will have you on the edge of your seat one minute and laughing out loud the next.

Have you ever been on a cruise?

  1. For a moment I read the title as ‘The Cruise Ship that Murders’ and that just sounded absolutely brilliant to me! This sounds like a really fun read to me, I can see why you enjoyed it! Thanks for sharing and for dropping by my blog 🙂 I hope you have a great weekend!

  2. This sounds like a fun read, although I can’t imagine inviting anyone to tag along on a honeymoon, or spending the time investigating a murder. I’ve been on many cruises, including one to Alaska, and I’ve been to Skagway.

    Thanks for visiting my blog.

    • These characters seem to have murders turning up everywhere they go, like the proverbial bad penny. LOL

  3. Hi Sherry,

Where to start – there are so many things to say here!

    I loved your review

Not having any children of my own, I too hate obnoxious children, although of course my own nieces and nephews weren’t little angels to travel with all of the time – and I couldn’t get away from them so easily!

I don’t like the idea of cruising and it would be my idea of a nightmare holiday. Being shut up with all those people 24/7, who I may not like, especially at meal times. Plus having to be on a time schedule when docked, which might mean I did not get to see all I wanted to of a place. The only possible exception I might make, would be a cruise up to the Norwegian Fjords, taking in the Northern Lights, although of course there is no guarantee of seeing anything (have friends who have done the cruise three times with no luck)

I don’t read too any cozy mysteries, but this series does sound like fun and is worth serious consideration. I am intrigued by the gold rush connection.

Thanks for sharing and have a good weekend 🙂

    • Even though you are not a big mystery fan, the characters and stories are fun to spend some times with. Glad you are considering them.

    • Usually, it’s the cover that gets me first, but this time it was the title. The author made a great choice.

    • My dad always wanted to go there, but never made it. Maybe he is able to visit it now. Glad to supply you with another great read.

  4. Lady Justice intrigues me and I can just picture the scenery in Alaska. The snippet gave me a chuckle, remembering all the out of control kiddos I’ve experienced on my travels. Nice post!

  5. Oh, I can so relate to the 56 snippet! 😀 Aargh. My last flight had 3 ids under the age of 3 and 8 year old within 3 rows of me. Happily, the flight was only an hour and a half.

Between the snippets, the blurb, and the title, I’m intrigued. I’ve seen this series around but for some reason I thought it was scifi.

    • Glad to clear it up for you, it is not scifi and definitely a read that will have you chuckling to yourself, or maybe even out loud.:-)
