He Won My Heart – My Gargoyle by Lawna Mackie @Lawnamackie

.

My Gargoyle by Lawn Mackie has a cover with a history.

Amazon says it’s too risque. Hmmm…

Yes, it is pretty hot, but that just tells you what is to come. I do not see this as being over the top, considering some of the covers I have seen. What do you think?

My Gargoyle is up for preorder at 99c and will be released on October 1, 2018.

Anyone interested in reading for review, please mention it in the comments and I, or the author, will get in touch. It is a quick read and I easily finished it in one sitting.

MY REVIEW

Lawna Mackie’s writing grabbed me from the beginning. I burst out laughing:

“I’ve had enough of this crap. Gargoyles don’t just fall off the top of towers.”

Then, Ryder’s hand felt on fire. Why? Gargoyles don’t fall in love…do they?

Tempest had escaped and cried out for help, even though she knew no one would come. Well, she is in for one heck of a surprise.

Her pet, Rogue, a Gargdog, half gargoyle and half dog, tried to save her. He would give his life for her. But…his wings were too small. I love thinking of Rogue as a cute little puppy cavorting in the woods.

They are Misfits, creatures gone wrong and they are left to try and survive in a secret world ruled by an evil demon.

The Silbaps had me cracking up. Trolls, pixies, gargoyles, Lawna Mackie has created some new and novel characters that I have never heard of before. And even the ones I knew about were described in such detail, that I could picture them in my mind.

She has created characters to die for and a wonderfully magical world that had me wanting to soar with them in love, happiness and freedom, but first, we must find our way through the danger that swirls around them.

An intense and very steamy, yet sweet, love story that I read in one sitting. If you’re looking for a quick read that will keep you wrapped in Ryder’s loving wings and deliver a happy ever after, look no further.

I voluntarily reviewed a free copy of My Gargoyle by Lawna Mackie.

GOODREADS BLURB

Ryder, commander of the Levarian legion of gargoyles, has a problem. He keeps dreaming on duty—and falling, neither of which gargoyles EVER do. Every dream is of the same woman, and every time, it brings on red-hot, searing pain in the crescent-shaped scar on his palm. Driven to find the woman and the reason for his bizarre dreams, he lets himself fall—right into to a place he never knew existed and to the woman of his dreams.

Labeled a misfit, Tempest was snatched away as a child and imprisoned in the hidden realm of Misfit Mountain. Locked up by Fedor, the ruler of the kingdom, who intends to take her as his bride, she has no choice but to brave the dangerous snow and ice of the Mountain to escape. Despairing, faced with the impossible choices of Fedor or death, love is the last thing on her mind, until Ryder snatches her from the air and into a whole new realm of feeling.

Can Ryder find the key to freeing her and save them both?

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Lawna MackieLawna Mackie was born in Jasper, Alberta. After finishing high school and post secondary she moved to Calgary, Alberta, married her husband and settled in the small town of Didsbury, Alberta.

Lawna would tell you that a lot of her creativity comes from her mother, who could design and build, just about anything. Her mother never lacked the talent for hand-making toys. “She always amazed me. My brother and I were never bored because she made us flutes, toy cars, and even parallel bars in the trees,” she explains.

Her other creative inspiration comes from her husband Jeff, and the many adventures they have had. It was on one particular trip to British Columbia, when she stopped at the Enchanted Forrest that the fairy tale world called to her to write a story.

Along with the love she has for her husband and family, is the deep admiration and compassion she has for animals. “They bring so much joy and inspiration to my life I don’t know how I would ever live without them,” she says. Alaskan Malamutes are near and dear to her heart. With one Malamute, one Bichon Shih Tzu, one farm cat and a Bengal, her house is never quiet.

Lawna writes contemporary romance and paranormals. One fan writes, “Lawna’s books are well-written and are impossibly good! The scenes are unexpected and very creative. I highly recommend her books!”
