I’m baaaack, after Hurricane Sally #hurricanesally

.

This is just a quick update to let you know, we made it through the hurricane in one piece. It was frightening and power had been lost from the 16th to the 20th. I will be sharing pics and videos later, but right now we are still doing cleanup and I will be catching up on missed blogging events as soon as I can.

Til then, stay safe and take care.

    • we were without for almost five days. that’s a first for me and quite a learning experience. we did buy the generator that we had been putting off. we are mostly ready because of covid and on the coast we always plan on bad weather, crossing out fingers it doesn’t come

    • we had a friend come and help with the worst of it. so good of him. he spent eight hours working constantly. wouldn’t even stop to eat. we have a lot of little clean up, a couple of trees that came down, some repair to fences and the shed. thank goodness the house is good and so are we and all our friends and family

  1. I’m glad you made it through Sally okay. We are trying to fight off her sister, Beta, right now. Beta sent strong winds that knocked a huge limb out of our sycamore tree and into our garage room. Raining. Sigh.

    • sounds all too familiar. a tree fell beside out shed, thank goodness. damaged but still there. glad to hear you are doing okay and wishing you the best

  2. I live in Charleston, SC and know how that feels. I have a daughter that lives in Gulfport, Miss. Hurricanes are frightening. I lost my first home I ever bought to Hurricane Hugo. I am so glad you are all okay!

    • ouch…losing a home…can’t imagine how awful that is. hope your daughter does okay, seeing she may have to contend with beta

    • thanks laura, but you do have blizzards and i have been through a couple of thoughs. they come with their own dangers

  3. I guess I should pay more attention where you were from. So glad you are safe and wishing you well in the aftermath of the hurricane, Sherry. Thanks for letting us know.

    • so far so good. now just waiting for the insurance adjuster and then we’ll have to find someone to take down the fallen tree…and another that was damaged…and fix the fence
