MY REVIEW

Don’t believe in conspiracies? Read on and you may change your mind.

The Cleansweep Counterstrike: A Matt Tremain Technothriller by Chuck Waldron is Book 2 of the Dystopian World Chronicles. You do need to read The Cleansweep Conspiracy first.

Matt Tremain is the journalist who exposed Charles Claussen’s Cleansweep Conspiracy knew he had a bullseye on his back.

Carling is a police officer that goes above and beyond his duty, but making up the rules as he goes along. Good thing he is by Matt’s side.

Charles Claussen had planned his escape, but never thought he would have to use it. Now, he was planning his revenge.

I love the old man, Sid. He has a reason to join the party, which I can’t tell you. He has nothing to lose. He is a Korean vet with some very worthy friends that want in on the action.

Hunter or prey? Depends on who’s telling the story.

Charles Claussen better prepare, because I see a world of hurt coming down on him.

We go around the world…by plane, train and automobile, in this action packed technothriller. Bullets fly, someone is kidnapped, death abounds. The question is…who will be left standing?

BUT…the story is not over. The fight will rise to a new level in The Cleansweep Consequences.

Book Description

In this sequel, Matt Tremain is back, facing an even deadlier threat. Deceit and intrigue lie hidden behind the collapse of Operation CleanSweep. It’s time for revenge.

Instrumental in exposing the evil behind Operation CleanSweep—a diabolical “cultural cleansing” plot masterminded by Toronto billionaire Charles Claussen—investigative blogger Tremain now faces the madman’s desire for vengeance. Claussen intends to settle the score personally by luring Matt into a deadly trap.

But the clock is ticking for Claussen, too. Fraternité des Aigles, The Brotherhood of Eagles—a shadowy group that secretly financed Claussen’s Operation CleanSweep—wants answers and their money back. Consumed with rage, Claussen risks everything to get to Matt before the Brotherhood gets to him. Tremain is once again partnering with a police detective, Carling. Knowing they are being lured into a possible trap, they decide to face their nemesis, Charles Claussen.

Across four continents, Claussen sets traps, pursues Tremain, and continues to execute his signature brand of global chaos. When his fiancé’s life is on the line, can Tremain stop Claussen’s madness and still avoid getting killed?

INTERVIEW

I would love to welcome Chuck Waldron to fundinmental today.

Let’s see what he has to say.

  1. What advice would you give budding writers

Write something every day, even if it’s only a paragraph or page. Develop the habit of writing. Then join a writing group and learn how other writers approach the craft. Above all, don’t avoid criticism. Praise is nice, but constructive criticism is priceless

  1. In today’s tech-savvy world, have you ever written parts of your book on paper

Yes. One reality of our tech-reliant lives is that computers and technology fail us. Who hasn’t experienced the blue screen of death or hard drive failure? If you haven’t, you will. I’m keeping cursive alive. It comes in handy.

  1. What’s your favorite travel spot

Cuba first, Iceland second.

  1. If you were stuck on a desert island, which three books would you want with you?
  • The Karla Trilogy Collection by John Le Carre (David Cornwell) featuring George Smiley: Tinker Tailor, Soldier Spy, The Honorable Schoolboy, and Smiley’s People.
  • The Cost of Discipleship by Dietrich Bonhoeffer
  • The Bible

Thanks so much for visiting and sharing your thoughts, Chuck. Good luck on the tour.
