Sherry’s Shelves #141 – Golf & Books

Sherry’s Shelves #141 is my weekly update from November 5 – November 11, 2017.

Sunday Post #201 Countdown to Spring..

.

~~~
Hello and welcome fellow bloggies. I was lucky to be able to play golf twice this week. Last Sunday was fabulous weather, but Thursday was cloudy, cool and a bit damp. Still…a bad day at golf is better than a good day at work. The weather warms up a bit during the day, but I am sad to see the hot days of 80 degrees are probably gone until next year. 😥  I don’t know about you, but I love feeling the sun on my skin, hearing the flop of my flips and jumping into the pool at the drop of the hat. My biggest consolation is…we rarely have any snow or ice here in Florida.
  1. It’s funny how I’m the opposite! I love the dark autumn and winter nights, curled up snug in bed with a nice warm room and a good book! I always get ready for winter, having stocked up the freezer and cupboards so I only need to use the local shops and can avoid the crowds!
  2. Here in California, we still have some warm days…but they are cooler, which suits me after our long, hot summer of triple digits, etc.
    Enjoy your days golfing…I’ve never golfed and probably never will, but I think we all need to do the things we love.
    Thanks for sharing…and for visiting my blog.
  3. I wish we still had sun on our skin, heh 🙂 we already had snow once, but luckily, it’s holding back for now. It will soon be freezing though. Not looking forward to that!
  4. I lived in Florida for a little of 6 years, and though there were so many things I loved, the heat was not one of them. I like moderate temperatures, but I am not getting any of that in the northeast either. We seem to be missing fall this year, and that makes me sad, because it is my favorite season. Hopefully you still get enough suitable golf weather.
  5. Sounds as if you had a lovely week golfing. I have honestly never attempted it. The nonhubs is a fan. Although his career allows no time home. We are used to cool and cloudy here in Portland. But that is okay, I don’t fair well with the sunny heat of Florida 😉 Have a wonderful week!
  6. Golf and books- sounds pretty good to me! Hope nice weather sticks around a bit… it’s raining here and we had a little sleet this AM, so yeah not as nice up here. 🙂
  7. We don’t get a lot of snow here either. But we do get lots of rain. And I miss summer already! A White Christmas would be nice too.. But like I said.. Snow is a rarity here.
    Have a great week and happy reading!
  8. I grew up in Florida, but I now live in Tennessee. There are some days I do miss the sun and the warmth, but I do love the seasons changing and the winter season here. Enjoy the rest of your Sunday.
  9. I’m wishing we moved to Florida. Our plans are on hold, but I can use some of that warmer weather about now 🙂 Hope you have a great week!
  10. I am missing the sun already!!!! All we have had the last couple of days is dreary cool, damp and cloudy days and I am ready for spring! 🙂
    Have a great week!
  11. Yes – the weather is quickly cooling here. We have a really sharp East wind right now which makes it properly cold – and like you, I hate it! With every passing Winter I loathe it more…:(. I hope you get another blast of warmthi before it really cools down, Sherry. Have a great week.
  12. It’s been getting colder and darker here in KS, our two trees finally dropped all their leaves seemingly overnight! Glad you got to enjoy some golf, I never have played but my granddad loved it!
    Have a great week!
  13. Golf sounds fun and I agree, definitely better than a day at work, haha. I’m definitely missing the sun already. It’s already getting dark here by 5pm, which is a bummer because I like to go out walking after work and I don’t want to do that in the dark. Our temps are all over the place right now too. The a/c runs all day but then the temps have dropped enough that the heat runs at night.
  14. I’m also in FL and I have to say I’m loving the cooler temps. 🙂 I’m so over the heat (I seem to tolerate it less and less every year) so bring on the cooler days! 🙂 Hope you have a great week!
  16. That’s nice you got to play golf twice this week. I prefer spring and autumn usually as I don’t like when it’s too warm or too cold.
