Sherry’s Shelves #98 – What do Kid Rock and Elephants Have in Common

Sherry’s Shelves #98 is my weekly update from October 9 – October 15, 2016.

Sunday Post #201 Countdown to Spring..

Stacking The Shelves {200}

BORN FREE

I subscribe to the BBC on YouTube because of videos like this one.

And…for your listening enjoyment while you peruse the rest of my post…Kid Rock and his powerful song, Born Free. His music speaks to my soul and I have tears in my eyes as I listen to this. It’s kind a funny, because when I first became aware of it is when they used it for a baseball playoff promo. Plus, he’s a fellow Michigander.

You can knock me down and watch me bleed, but you can’t keep no chains on me!

Hello fellow bloggers. Our weather is still great here in the Florida Panhandle. In the 80s during the day and a crisp 60s at night. The cooler nights have taken all the humidity out of the air and the sky is a sharp and brilliant blue…beautiful. Because of the shorter days, I have been watching the moon grow fuller and it will be in all its glory tonight. I’m going to take some more photos. I have recently purchased a cord release because touching the camera caused the lens to move ever so slightly, creating camera shake. I had one before, but since I updated my camera, I had to get another one. Here’s hoping it works. “fingers crossed” How about you? Are you a stargazer?

We are still getting in the pool. It is 78 and much warmer than the northern waters where I grew up…in Michigan…and where I spent many a summer weekend…Cape Cod.

Here is an update on my blogging ahead status:

I don’t really count October, but I have overdone it a bit and spent so much time because there are so many good books out there, that I thought I would throw it out there.

  • Oct:  21 posts for the 17th through the 31st
  • Now, for the real thing:
  • Nov:  6
  • Dec:  9

See what I mean about spending too much time on October? I will be trying to limit myself for the rest of the year and catch up on owed reviews and books that I wanted to share just because I liked them!

How do YOU say no to a good book?

  1. We are having 60s in the day and low 50s at night, but the loveliest autumn weather I can ever remember. I love to gaze at the stars, but it’s too cold here for me, sadly… Hope the camera chord works well:). Have a great week, Sherry.

    • I love autumn because it clears the haze, making everything seem more colorful and bright. Thanks for dropping in Sarah.

  2. I want to go swimming but my body is not ready for all to see in the pool at the Y yet…I am determined to get there though…lol. If I don’t die trying cause boy my body aches. 🙂

    Have a great week!

    Week in Review

    • I used to be a bodybuilder, so it has taken me some time to get used to my older body. Don’t think I will ever be happy about it, but I think we are too critical of ourselves. I look at some of these young girls on the beach…a ‘bit’ out of shape and think I don’t look so bad. Life is to enjoy, so cut yourself some slack. 🙂

  3. I don’t really know much about Kid Rock other than the fact he went out with Pamela Anderson didn’t he?

Well done on blog ahead – you’re doing amazingly. I’m barely keeping up with present time commitments let alone blogging ahead.

    • I am using the blog ahead to keep me motivated. Mr Wonderful has a lot of time off in November and December and I hate scrambling, like I usually do. This will take a lot of pressure off of me. The holidays supply enough. Yes, Kid Rock does get around. lol

  4. Kid Rock is awesome. I just saw a post on Facebook where someone named their prize show horse after him! LOL Great videos. I spent most of Saturday afternoon and today in the pool. Got the new pump hooked up and did a lot of cleaning. Now to enjoy it before cooler weather arrives.

    My Sunday Post

    • I LOVE him. That’s cool about the horse. Glad to hear the pool is up and running again. Still fab swimming.

  5. I wish the weather would warm up down here, so we can start swimming! Ahhh Kid Rock! He has some good songs 😝😝

    • He sure does. For some reason his songs really hit all my buttons. He is a bit of a rebel too and I do like a bad boy. 🙂

  6. I’m doing the blog ahead challenge as well! I haven’t gotten anything scheduled past October yet though. Good luck with the challenge and have a great week! 😀

    • I’m kinda all over the place. I did get pretty carried away this month because of all the great tour books, but am trying to back off some to get into November and December. Anything we do to get ahead is a good thing in my book.
