Sherry’s Shelves #193 – Weeks Bay, Alabama #PitcherPlants

Sherry’s Shelves #193 is my weekly update from 7.14.19 – 7.20.19.

LATEST HAPPENINGS

Hello fellow bloggers. I have missed posting Sherry’s Shelves for the past few weeks. Not enough time in the day for doing everything and I knew I wouldn’t be able to respond to you in a timely fashion. Commenting and email take up so much time and I find it hard to stick to a schedule to make it easier for myself. How do you find the time?

Mr Wonderful had a freelance fishing gig and saw this sign and went in to investigate. Weeks Bay, Alabama. Now that he’s found it, he has to take me there! Pitcher Plants…I kept trying to remember what we called them as kids. We would find them in the woods around our house in Michigan…Jack in the Pulpits is what we called them. Fascinating plants.

  1. I go hard on my posts on the weekend, and try to write my reviews as I finish books. I set aside one hour a night for blog hopping, and only comment when I really have something to say. The schedule works for me. Those plants are very cool. I have never seen them before.

  2. I’m loving this post, and so jealous of the local. It’s my dream to go to a place similar to this and knowing me, I’m going to make it happen!

    • ya never know what’s hidden around the corner. gotta keep our eyes open

  3. Jack In The Pulpits! I remember those! Brings back great days of adventure growing up doesn’t it. I hope you two are enjoying the summer. I know Mr. Wonderful is awfully busy during this time of year. Wish I could come by and catch a Wahoo’s game:) Getting ready to head in to work now. Ugh! Check your emails. I’ll let you choose the date for the Tag Team!

    • so true to all of that. wish you could come for a game too. otherwise, looks like i’ll be going by myself…which i really don’t mind. just more fun when someone’s with me. i’ll get back to you today about the tag team. i saw it, but then…well…you know…eric had the weekend off so….

  4. I usually spend Sunday/Monday night after dinner commenting on all the Sunday/Monday meme posts, It takes a few hours admittedly but I do it on my iPad from the comfort of my lounge so it’s not so bad

    • i usually get behind on the weekend when mr wonderful is home. i am working on getting all back reviews done, then i will schedule posts other than reviews on ‘bad’ days, days when i know i can’t devote a lot of time. that way, i can spend less time on my blog and more time on theirs

    • yeah, don’t have to worry about the authors, i put the pressure on myself. i am slowing getting to a place where i am more comfortable and not taking on so many review books.

    • i love them too. so interesting. i wonder if there is a story there? How about a fairy getting trapped and…

  5. I mainly try to get caught up on the weekends, during the school year when I am teaching. I have a bit more time in the summer, between rest time for Eleanor and then the various camps she attends. All of that leaves me with more time to get some blog posts prepped to just post in the coming weeks. I am actually working on that now, seeing as how we are going home to MN for the next two weeks, then it is back to school already. YIKES!

    • sounds like you figured it out for you. that’s great. definitely want time to enjoy the summer. scheduling ahead has become important to me and i am doing consistently better at it. hope you enjoy the rest of your summer and thanks for sharing

  6. Nice Pitcher plants, and what a beautiful view from that boardwalk Sherry! You need to visit it for sure! I’m behind on commenting. It’s really hard to stay caught up. I try to do it twice a week when met parents take my daughter for a couple hours during the summer. Once school starts I do it when she’s at school. Have a wonderful week!

    • yeah, there’s no way i’ll be an every day commenter, but try to catch up every few days or so. the weekend is not good for me, but when mr wonderful is freelancing i can get a lot done. we need one more laptop and then maybe it will be primo. we’ll see
