Zara Hamilton has it
all—a glamorous New York lifestyle, a gorgeous (and seriously rich)
boyfriend, and a job as a lawyer in a prestigious city law firm. But
when Zara’s boyfriend is accused of insider trading, her perfect world
implodes.
Thrown out of work by security and stalked by the
press, Zara’s life can’t get any worse. Or can it? A snap decision (and a
few wines too many) sees Zara fleeing to Africa to work as a temporary
wildlife volunteer.
But just when things start to cool down at home, Zara realizes her troubles have only just begun.
Will Zara’s designer wardrobe survive? Will a supermodel ruin her only chance at happiness? Can a Birkin bag really solve her problems? And will Zara want her old life back at the end of it all…
Such a fun cover I couldn’t resist it. I am such a sucker, but more often than not, they are books I enjoy. I added this to my TBR on 5.13.12. This is Kate Metz’s first novel.

A Chinese satellite is on crash course with Earth. It contains enough plutonium to irradiate a large city. And that’s the good news…
In the tradition of Tom Clancy, Michael Crichton, and Robert Ludlum, comes a new hero.
Michael Chase is a twenty-six year old backpacker, a recent college grad, an amateur. He flew to Hong Kong to find his missing father. Four hours later, he’s running for his life. The Chinese Secret Police want him dead. The Conspiracy wants him dead. And the one person who he thinks is on his side, may want him dead too. If Michael is going to live, he’ll need to find a hidden piece of Nazi technology lost since World War II. And he’ll have to do it before anyone else. Because if he doesn’t, a little plutonium is going to be the least of his problems.
I do love my mystery, suspense/thrillers. Lovin’ this cover and the ‘written in the tradition of Tom Clancy, Michael Crichton and Robert Ludlum, authors I am very familiar with. How can I possibly resist?

Fabulous cover the Ward of the Vampire by Kallysten drew me into this vampire story with characters that captured me, making me want to know more as they took me to a wonderful place of magic and romance.
Forgot to mention the cliffhanger. This is more like a preview or a tease of what is to come in the series, which is complete and available as a set and you can get it HERE for $4.99 on Kindle

The books I have been sharing for the Backlog post are from the documents on my Kindle. I am trying to read through them so I can delete them. Some have been hanging around for a very long time, others not so much.
This week, I’m sharing Lynda Filler’s Code Raven: Prequel, a thriller novella. Love that cover…and whenever I see a crow it gets my mind working…something evil this way comes.
I don’t know when I downloaded it or where I got it from, but the Code Raven: Prequel was released 7.16.18.
The Code Raven: Prequel is a wild and amazing introduction to a thrilling series and I found the characters to be unique, fascinating, and highly skilled.

Roxanne Rhoads runs Bewitching Book Tours and I have been a host there for years. When I saw she had a book on Instafreebie, I grabbed it. Does that mean we are supposed to review it? Heck I don’t know any more…I downloaded it on 1.16.17 and it was released in October of 2009. Have you read it?
New Orleans. Halloween. Ooooo sounds right up my alley and a bit creepy. I do love to get my creep on. BUT, beware of the heat, this is an erotic vampire love story that burns with passion…but for who?
She was at Quillon’s beck and call. He is a vampire and she is a paranormal researcher, so she knows that all the monsters are real and they do walk among us. She lives a solitary life, carrying her B.O.Bs with her when she travels. Are you curious? Okay, I’ll tell you, but just this one thing and that’s it. Battery operated boyfriends
There were no big surprises for me and I don’t read a lot of erotic stories, but this short was just right and hit all my supernatural buttons.
I voluntarily reviewed a free copy of Eternal Desires by Roxanne Rhoads.

Ghost Storm by Jessie Renee was published on 9.3.15 and has sat in my Documents on Kindle for, well, probably, almost that long. Why it took me so long to visit Hidden Bay, I can’t say for sure, but, now that I have, I would like to return again…and again.
I was so happy to visit these wonderful characters and Hidden Bay, where nothing is at it seems and there is a special someone that will help to soothe the lost souls, maybe even find a little romance in Ghost Storm, an engrossing supernatural tale that left me wanting to revisit them.

Melodie thought Hidden Bay was just another stop in her nomadic life. That soon she’d be moving on again.
But
as soon as she arrives, strange things begin to happen. There’s Blake,
the guy who’s so familiar, though she’s sure she’s never met him;
there’s the man who keeps appearing, who may not be a man at all; and
there’s the blackouts.
Except that in the blackness, she’s going somewhere. Somewhere other. Somewhere dark, and wet, and full of pain.
And if she doesn’t work out what it all means soon, it could be too late. For her. For Blake. Perhaps for the whole town of Hidden Bay.

Today I am sharing one that has been hanging around in Documents on my Kindle for a very long time, Dark Promise, Between Worlds Book I by Julia Crane & Talie Jager. Why? They tend to get lost through all the one clicking I used to do. I still have trouble controlling myself, but I am trying to be choosier. There isn’t enough time to read them all.
Dark Promise was free when I created this post, but be sure and check for the ‘0’
There is more than one cover and I am curious which you like more. They are both gorgeous in their own right and I cannot choose my favorite. How about you?
Rylie is special. Her mother gave her up when she was a baby to keep her safe, but now her birthday is approaching and there is nowhere to hide.
I was quickly intrigued…faeries…I haven’t read a lot of them. Once she met Kallan I became hooked. Even though there is a triangle, it doesn’t bother me, the guys are two separate beings and that just adds to my curiosity…which will she choose…and why.
My only problem, I was just getting hot and heavy into the book and it ended. I need more.

I can’t remember how I got Gem Stone by Dale Mayer, but it was published October 12, 2012, and, after reading it, I wonder why I waited so long to read it.
Uh Oh. Gemma Stone is in the wrong place at the wrong time and taking photos, no less. From juvie to a halfway home…
But…they messed with the wrong kids when they messed with Gem and her friends.
I love this motley group and their loyalty to each other. One for all and all for one. These kids took me o n one wild ride right to the very end.
Love the environmental angle slipped in and the photography.
The suspense is different from what I expected, in an awesome way.
The writing riveting and captivated me beginning to end.
The characters are fabulous and I love how the ‘family’ came together.
Touchy subject…foster children.

A juvie kid trying to stay on the right path stumbles into trouble…
Gemma
takes her camera everywhere. From juvie hall to a halfway home, the new
hobby gives her a focus she’d never had before and… hope in a future.
Until she takes pictures of something that could get her killed.
And
not just her…after she and another juvie girl are chased by a
stranger to the halfway home that same night, the other girl goes
missing and Gemma knows she needs help. But who can she trust?
Not
the authorities that’s for sure. Trusting them is impossible for a girl
with her damaged history, and besides, who cares about a troubled
kid…especially when trouble just naturally seems to find her.
