My Adventures – Living Life 110%

Living life 110% is our motto.

I invite you to come along on my adventures and I would love to hear about yours.

The weekend was chockful of wonderful things to do, but it wasn’t hard for us to choose what events we wanted to attend. The beach is one of our favorite places to go. People watching is a fun past-time and there are always some interesting characters wandering around. But this weekend had some added bonuses, like the Corvette Car Show and A Taste of Pensacola with Andrew Zimmer.

I jumped at the chance to see all these speed machines at the Corvette show. I am a lover of muscle cars and it seemed like every Corvette – from vintage to current – was in attendance. The roar of the engines vibrated through the air, making me want to jump in one and go for a joy ride.

 A Taste of Pensacola with Andrew Zimmer took place at the Pensacola Beach pavilion. I waited for him to wade into the Gulf and come out with some kind of freaky food, but he stayed with a traditional Gulf staple – Shrimp.

Andrew Zimmer did some stirring and a little sampling along the way. We visited the Hooter girls and had a couple of Bloody Marys to quench our thirst.

Just look at those beautiful shrimps. Makes your mouth water, doesn’t it?

The presentation was appetizing and corn bread is a southern mainstay not to be missed. Andrew Zimmer was very entertaining and hospitable, taking time for a meet and greet after the show.

On to Captain Fun’s for the Alabama football game. Captain Fun’s is the place to go on the Boardwalk to get your football fix with some diehard Crimson Tide fans. Alabama did not let us down. The game was a roller coaster ride of emotions, keeping us watching until the final whistle was blown.

Number 1 Alabama still rules and The Tide beat Texas A & M – 49 to 42.

We topped off the day with the The Romantics Concert at the Blues Angel Music School, celebrating 130 years of Gretsch guitars.

Emily Guido’s Book Signing in Birmingham Alabama

This post comes straight from Emily Guido to you!!!!!!

IT WAS A WONDERFUL TIME!

First of all, you all know that I abhor having my picture taken!

I just don’t take good pictures ever!

Slide1

So, I am coming out of my comfort zone… so to speak…with these pictures.

It took 14 hours  of straight driving through to arrive in St. Louis, Missouri!

I turned my radar detector on and made it in my Dodge CHARGER SRT8 with HEMI engine in record time.

By the way… the Charger is what my Hero, Tabbruis drives!  Funny how life imitates art???

photo (4)

We visited with my husband’s family and that went very well.

I don’t know if you watched “Everybody Loves Raymond” and or “Martha Stewart“… so if you didn’t, you won’t get this at all…

198551

Matt’s mom is the original “Everybody Loves Raymond/Martha Stewart” Combo Mother-in-Law.

Every meal was to die for.  But it’s hard to explain how “Debra” I feel sometimes.

However, his family put up with my editing and working on my book while I was there.  His family even came to Birmingham with us.

I have to say, it was very nice of his family to come and give me and Matt their support!

Birmingham Library

Then we pack everything and go down to Birmingham, Alabama for the Book Expo at the Birmingham Library.

UNFREAKINGBELIVABLE… I have NEVER seen a library so big!

The Birmingham Library had two buildings, it was beautiful and airy! Just perfect!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
photo (3)
We stayed at the Tutwiler Hotel right across from the Library and it was GORGEOUS inside and out!
The room was comfortable and VERY luxurious!
I was blown away at how nice it was! If you ever need to stay in Birmingham…stay at the Tutwiler…it is MARVELOUS!!!
And no, I’m not getting a commercial endorsement fee…haha!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The night before the Book Expo we dined at the Applebees with my family, another author Daven Anderson of “Vampire Syndrome” and my Publisher PDMI Direct, TC McKinney, his wife Nessa and his two children Wayne and Christian.

By the way, his kids are adorable!

My books box set

My Publisher TC and Nessa presented me with WONDERFUL news!

PDMI, my publisher took my first three books and put them in a LIMITED EDITION GOLD BOX SET of my first three books, “Charmeine,” “Mactus,” and “Accendo.”

There will be ONLY 250 of them made. SQUEEEEEE!!!

The box set looks awesome and it came with a certificate of authenticity.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
CHARMEINE Put together the way I ORIGINALLY wrote it!!A DREAM COME TRUE FOR ME!
Then that wasn’t enough to make my jaw fall on the floor…wait until you hear and see this.
They put all my first three books together in one paperback novel the way I originally intended it!!!
I started to cry.
You have no idea what it’s like to see your ORIGINAL NOVEL put together the way YOU WROTE IT!!
I was so happy and looked at that thick bound book novel and thought about all the work and struggle it was to have that precious book in my hands!
They even had it put together as a “Signature Edition of CHARMEINE” which means it has my signature embossed in the novel on the front cover and in the novel itself!
OH MY GOD!  How wonderful!
I’m welling in tears just writing about it
Because folks… I was just in Heaven and still am to see my “Baby” come to life the way I envisioned it to be!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

At dinner the night before and presented with the Limited Edition Box Set and MY ORIGINAL Novel they way I intended it to be!

I am really happy in this picture, I was just recovering from crying and the shock of the GOLD EDITION novels bound together and then my ORIGINAL signature edition novel!

The next day was the Book Expo!

I was very excited and also nervous.  My husband took this picture. I didn’t know he took it until I saw the pictures. Before the Expo started I had to say a prayer and THANK GOD for letting this day come.

I am not a righteous or overly religious person…no.

However, I do have to thank God for all I have been given and the chances I have had which most people don’t ever have.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Book Signing for someone
The Book Expo was great!  These are some pics my husband, Matt took.
Yes folks…he is very similar in a lot of ways to Tabbruis…hubba, hubba!
The signing was fun and people in Birmingham have got to be the nicest people to be so welcoming to me and the other authors.
More pictures of signing books!
163_020213
It was so much fun!
Daven Anderson Author of "Vampire Syndrome"
Met PDMI’s other Authors like I said before Daven Anderson of “Vampire Syndrome”!!!
PDMI Direct Publishing only part of the Authors and Owners
Then this is a picture of all of PDMI’s Authors and Owners!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

My wonderful mom! 92 and still going... even with Alzheimers!

Now it was time to visit my family and my mom.

We took Matt’s family back to St. Louis and then came to Evansville, Indiana where I was born and raised.

I visited family and Mom. She has Alzheimers and didn’t recognize me at all but she talked to me.

However she looked great and is being well-taken care of!  She is doing awesome and keeps on being the wonderful lady she is.

I LOVED SEEING and BEING WITH HER!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Returned home to NEMO! Just made it in time and was THANKFULLY safe.  BUT we are buried in snow!!!
The Storm “NEMO” cut our visit short and we left Evansville, Indiana speeding home in my Charger to race the storm back to New Jersey!
I’m not ashamed to tell you that THANK GOD the Charger is a high performance machine because we raced her all the way home!
We made it!
But it is shovel time!!
EVERYTHING is shut down and a lot of people don’t have power or heat!
Again LONG gas lines…just like Sandy!!!
But New Jersey is tough and we didn’t get it as bad as Long Island did!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Well Folks that was my wonderful trip!

It was fun and exciting!

Now, I have a book signing much more closer to home at the

County College of Morris on MARCH 4th in Randolph, New Jersey!

I am thanking God for these wonderful opportunities,

AND I thank you too!

Thanks to two of the best bloggers!!!

I was recently given two awards and it is so appropriate that the first two awards I ever received are from my sister, Laura, at fuonlyknew .

She is the one who introduced me to blogging, Goodreads and Twitter. I can’t thank her enough for all her help and support in helping me learn the ropes and introducing me to some of her great friends on the internet. It has brought us closer together. Thank you so much, Laura!

For the Fabulous Blog Ribbon you tell 5 fabulous moments, five things you love and 5 things you hate, and then nominate 5 friends.

For the Versatile Blogger award you tell seven things about yourself and nominate seven friends.

Emily Guido nominated me for not one, but three awesome awards. Even though she is extremely busy writing her Light-Bearer series, she still finds time to stop by my blog and say hi. Thanks so much.

If you haven’t met Emily yet, you can meet her here

The rules:

1) Include the award in your post.

2) Thank the person who nominated you and link back to them.

3) Tell 7 random facts about yourself.

4) Nominate 7 other blogs and let them know you’ve done so.

also the

Rules:

1) Thank the person who nominated you and link back to them.

2) List 7 things about yourself.

3) Nominate 7 other bloggers and let them know you’ve done so.

and then

There is only one rule:

1) Don’t do a damned thing!

I have decided to combine all the tasks into one. I will tell you seven things about myself. And keep it on the down low, because I have a reputation to protect. LOL

1. It took me an odd route (from Michigan to Alabama to Georgia to Florida to Alabama to New York and back to Florida) to make it here, Florida, but I feel like I am home.

2. I am a car nut, I love fast cars.

3. My husband calls me a mermaid because I spend so much time in the pool. I am a water and sun worshipper.

4. I have a love/hate relationship with golf. I hack around the course every chance I get and take along some beers to soothe my savage beast.

5. I am a bit of a loner, so the power of invisibility would be awesome.

6. I used to be a neat freak, but have found a little dust never hurt anyone. There are not enough hours in the day to do all I want to do.

7. My two hobbies are my passions, other than my husband, of course. I love reading and photography. I like to start my morning, with my coffee, kindle or physical book and camera on the patio by the pool.

All the header photos on my blog were taken by me and I will change them out every now and then.

What a life and I’m loving every minute of it.

Below are my nominees. I spend a lot of time browsing their blogs. Thanks guys. Stop by their blogs and check them out.
