I take my hat off to this Zombie Western – Survivor Roundup, Book II of the Zombie West Series, by Angela Scott

Spoiler Alert: Survivor Roundup is Book II in the Zombie West Series by Angela Scott. I could hardly wait to start this book, after finishing Wanted: Dead or Undead, Book I. To see my 5 STAR Review of Wanted, go HERE.

This is any unlikely story for me to rate 5 STARS. It is full of suspense and surprises, as it twists its way down the dusty trail. If you like Zombies in any way, shape, or form, this book is a must read.

Survivor Roundup (The Zombie West Series, #2)Add To Goodreads

Caroline was having the baby and called for Red. Red was afraid to help. She knew she was different from the others and was afraid of what she might do to the baby when she smelled the blood. Rivers said she would help her and took Red’s hand, leading her to Caroline.

The Zombies outside the fort were screaming and howling more than usual. It was like they knew the birth was imminent. When the baby gave its first cry, the Zombies went wild, trying desperately to enter the fort, losing body parts as they walked and climbed over each other, scratching at the doors.

Their food supplies were getting very low. They knew they would have to do something, and soon, or they would all starve to death.

Red knew she was their first and last line of defense. She would have to go out among the Zombies and open the way for Trace to get the wagon out of the fort. She was shooting and slashing, blood and body parts flying through the air. The blood covered every inch of her body. The plan worked.

The rest of her “posse” would be safe in the fort, until they returned.

They had been searching for anything of value, anywhere, but came up empty. After two days, they came across a cabin with smoke rising from the chimney. The old woman told them she had nothing to give them. She was barely able to take care of her kids. She told them not to go to Mill Creek, because it was overrun with Zombies, so they knew that was where they had to go.

Red entered Mill Creek, walking among the Undead like she was invisible to them. She scavenged whatever she thought they could use.

Trace never saw the men coming. What was worse, they saw Red in town with all the Zombies.

When Red returned to the wagon, the men descended upon her.

What would become of her?

Red had a secret and it gave her a reason to survive.

What about her posse?

First off, I am not a big fan of Zombies and haven’t read many Westerns since I used to read my father’s books many years ago. I don’t get into Zombie movies and have not read a lot of Zombie books, but this one was amazing. The book took it to a level that made me want more. It captured my heart and my imagination.

Sometimes a second book will not compare to the first, but this just kept getting better and better. I find myself smiling as I picture some of the scenes. Pretty sick, huh? The more I read, the more I liked the story. It made me realize I have missed reading Westerns and will be looking for more of them. The book was so realistic, at times I would forget about the Zombies.

The book is very well written and the suspense kept me racing through the pages, wondering how this could end well. I kept thinking, what can you do with the story? Where can it go?

The characters seemed so real to me. I loved most of them. But, there must be a bad, evil, black-hatted monster for the white hats to fight and prevail over.

I love Rivers. Even though she was only eleven, being raised in the Wild West gave her a  maturity that the kids nowadays sorely lack. Due to the harsh living conditions, she was forced to grow up fast. She didn’t think about things much, just did what was necessary.

Desperate times call for desperate measures.

It seems Man sinks to its lowest, loosing their most evil depravities on humanity, when the chips are down. The most corrupt seem to rise first. Then, it is up to the white hat to take them down. Is that because we dwell on the awful and don’t see the good?

The part where the bandits were being attacked by the Zombies was awesome. I could picture the Zombies under the wagon, grabbing  the guy and pulling him off his feet. Sounds like something I saw on Supernatural. I love seeing the bad guys get their comeuppance.

Munchers, uglies, nutters, undead, walkers, unfortunates.

When Angela talks about the young boy eating his own fingers and toes and Red giving him the freshly killed rat, I could picture it. How gruesome. So, be prepared and  be afraid.

I will be looking for Book III, Dead Plains, due out this fall.

I won a signed, first edition, paperback Arc of Wanted: Dead Or Undead, The Zombie West Series Book 1 by Angela Scott, back in December. Then, in April, I won Survivor Roundup, Book 2. The books were screaming at me to be read. I am so glad I won Book 2, because I wanted to start reading it as soon as I finished with Wanted: Dead or Undead. So I can. And you can too.

Be sure and read the author bio. I love learning about the authors of the books I read and oftentimes find them as entertaining as the books themselves. Like a super short story.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Angela Scott   I hear voices. Tiny fictional people sit on my shoulders and whisper their stories in my ear. Instead of medicating myself, I decided to pick up a pen, write down everything those voices tell me, and turn it into a book. I’m not crazy. I’m an author.

For the most part, I write contemporary Young Adult novels. However, through a writing exercise that spiraled out of control, I found myself writing about zombies terrorizing the Wild Wild West—and loving it. My zombies don’t sparkle, and they definitely don’t cuddle. At least, I wouldn’t suggest it.

I live on the benches of the beautiful Wasatch Mountains with two lovely children, one teenager, and a very patient husband. Review of Absolution by Susan Fleet

This book will grab you from the first page and not let you go. Feelings of frustration, disgust, and anger will leave you panting for more. I kept wanting to yell, don’t open the door.

He was watching Dawn from his car, thinking of how she teased him. She was a sinner, not very bright, and she would be his fourth Absolution in New Orleans. He knew the police and FBI were after him but he felt God was watching over him .

The citizens were up in arms, wanting action. Racial tensions were high and they had just arrested a black man for being near the murder scene. Rona knew they were trying to pin it on a black guy, so she told Renzi about Kitty, her informant. She took Renzi to talk to her. Kitty claimed to be a psychic. He arranged for her to do an identikit, but before he left, she told him she thought the guy was a priest. He had made a sign, as if absolving her of her sins.
bourbon street Pictures, Images and Photos

When Rona published the story stating a witness had escaped the Tongue Killer and described him as white and a priest, all hell broke loose and Renzi was in the middle of it. What would that mean for the witness?

Father Sean was very upset about Lynette. All the victims had been Catholic and he had told his housekeeper, Aurora, about seeing her talking to a young priest at the mall. When Father Sean approached him to talk to him, he had been very rude. She thought he should go to the police, but he had secrets of his own. The police and FBI would begin to question him, and his secrets would come out.

Father Sean Daily was doodling with the killers sketch while thinking of what would happen if he was exposed. Suddenly it dawned on him, it looked like………

Animated Animals. Pictures, Images and Photos    5 – Would Buy It For Them (lol)

I guess I must be a pretty sick person, because I love to read about serial killers. I feel they must be some of the most depraved animals, that are considered to be part of the human race. Murder and death are fascinating to me.

I feel the media tends to inflame the killers, by giving them the attention they crave. Giving them names –  Son of Sam, BTK, Green Mile Killer, just to name a few. I think the media will go to any lengths to increase their bottom line. The reporter will lie and make things up to break a story, win a Pulitzer. That is only one of the evils involved. There are plenty more to go around.

Politics. What can I say about politics? High profile cases are used to climb the ladder of advancement. Some can only be promoted to the level of their incompetence. It is seen everywhere and in every walk of life.

This book includes all of the above. It will piss you off, as you read about Norris. And the media naming the serial killer – Tongue Killer. Susan seems to hit on a lot of the problems going on today in her books. I like that it makes it more real and stirs my emotions, sometimes to a fever pitch.

The Killer – he studied serial killers and liked that he had a name, because so many of them did. Of course, he thought he was smarter than the press, police and FBI. He had a mission. He had to expose the evil women. His goal for them was Absolution.

Norris is the biggest dick. Arrogant, know it all. A man I love to hate. He is disrespectful, bigoted, racist, and the boss. He will climb the ladder, by stepping on you. If you don’t get pissed off when you read about him, then you must be a better person than I.

Renzi and Norris are constantly butting heads. Renzi has to bite his tongue and watch Norris take the credit for his work. On top of that, his father is a judge and his expectations for Renzi are high.

Kenyon Miller, his partner, “Didn’t your daddy tell you never to pick fights with guys bigger than you?” Renzi, “Hell, no. When a damsel’s in distress, my father expects me to slay the dragon, no matter how big it is.”

What can I say about New Orleans? They don’t call it The Big Easy for nothing. You can tell that Susan loves the town and her years spent there. She also manages to work her love of Jazz into her stories. I have spent many a day – and night – in New Orleans and there is no other place like it.

Shotgun house – can shoot through the front door and out the back without hitting a wall. I had never heard of that, until I moved down south. I actually lived in a shotgun house, but it had been remodeled and a wall built to block the bullet. lol

I received this book from the author in return for an honest and unbiased review.

This is a different kind of Vampire novel that I could really sink my teeth into – Eternal Island, Book I

I won this book back in January during a Giveaway on the fuonlyknew blog. I would like to thank Laura Thomas, Ella Medler and K. S. Haigwood for offering the book. I had seen the book around, how could I miss it with the awesome cover. I just knew there was paranormal activity going on between the “pages” and could hardly wait to get my hands on it. Needless to say, I was not disappointed.

Be sure and look for the Giveaway at the end of the post. One lucky commenter will win an ebook copy of Eternal Island Book I and the just released Eternal Immortality, Book II.

Eternal Island by K. S. Haigwood and Ella Medler

Eternal Island (Book 1 in the Eternal Series)

Rainey, a psychic and right hand to Abe, told him there was more bad news. To him it seemed that was all he ever got from her. Rainey told him he would meet his soul mate and she would be human. He was the the vampire king, so it was impossible for him to hook up with a human.

She pulled out the crystal ball and he laughed. It was so cliche. She warned him, don’t look into the ball unless you are prepared to fall in love. Him? Was she crazy? But when he looked into it………….

crystal ball photo: crystal ball crystal_ball.gif

It was instant love. Ariana. He knew he could not live without her. Rainey would go get her and she would leave now.

Rainey woke Ariana and explained to her about Eternal Island. She used her powers to keep her calm as she talked to her. She thought it best not to tell her about Abe. Ariana agreed to come. What did she have to lose?

Ariana had been in a coma for eight weeks. She had no memory of how she came to be there or who she was. She had a vision about her and Abe. Not so good, considering he was a vampire.

Once on the plane with Rainey, she began to think she might have made a mistake, trusting a witch.

tropical island photo: Island 499096Uninhabited-Tropical-Island-A.jpg

When Rainey made the island appear in the empty ocean, Ariana asked ,

“This witchy stuff. Is it something you learn, or something you’re born with? Can you teach me?”

They landed and Ariana saw the car, a Lotus. Rainey said she may give it to her, she was ready for a new car and asked if  she wanted to drive it. Ariana could hardly contain her excitement.

“Are you freaking serious? Hell yeah, I wanna drive.”

As they drive off, I can’t help but wonder what will become of Ariana. She has no memory, going to a place with witches, vampires, and who knows what else. Will she reciprocate Abe’s love and live happily ever after? Will a malevolent evil make her life a living hell?

Animated Animals. Pictures, Images and Photos   5 STARS – Would Buy It For Them (lol)

I saw the cover, and thought this would be a great book. I was right.

It was well written and I loved the “tone” of the writing. I loved the humorous, sarcastic dialogue. Did some of Ella’s and K. S.’s personality leak onto the “pages”?

Most vampire books can be pretty heavy, know what I mean? But this was light-hearted and fun to read. More than once I caught myself smiling or laughing. An original concept and a departure from the norm. I always like that.

I love fast cars, so it always catches my attention when a hot one is mentioned. When you read the book, you will see why they loved driving.

Abe – vampire, like a baby learning to deal with feelings and emotions, confusing him. High vampire. “finer than frog hair”

Ariana-  persuasive, smart, intuitive, beautiful, strongest witch, powerful healer. Do what she wants. Dream walker, “super witch” .

Rainey –  witch, visions, Abe’s right hand. Professor. Teaches magic, potion making.

“she finally met a hot guy and he’s only in dreams, that figures. “

Rainery  – “I’ve always wanted to read other peoples minds. but after hearing your thoughts I dont think I want to any more.”

The depth of Abe’s love was amazing. To hear a Vampire describe his feelings like that was a nice twist for the genre.

“How the hell could he have a broken heart when his his heart hadn’t beaten in hundreds of years?”

Abe – “I love you Ariana. Fall and Ill catch you”

I thought it was great that Ariana’s human friends were included. Bringing the normal, outside world into the fantasy world, made the story seem more realistic. The characters captured me, as if they were real people. They sure did act like it.

I think we all have a vague idea about the way this will end, but the journey getting there is well worth the time. No waiting for Book II. It is scheduled for release on May 10, 2013.

Ella Medler

I live in Cornwall with my husband and our two teenage daughters who regularly threaten to never leave home (must be my cooking).

Together, we care for a large assortment of pets, some small enough to fit in a fish tank, and some capable of causing you significant injury on impact.

I was born in Transylvania but got chucked out due to my inability to grow fangs and reluctance to sleep in coffins. I studied economics to masters level, and qualified with 93.5% (damn good, considering I really wasn’t interested). I wanted to be an archaeologist, travel the world, scrape around in mud and live in squalor. Unfortunately, my mother won that argument, and so, after refusing a teaching post (I never did like school), I started work in business development consultancy roles, where I met my husband, the lucky so and so.

The rest is history. If you’re reading this, you already know the end of the story.

Detective Nat McCoy would rather see Marcia in his bedroom than the bullpen. The gorgeous Scotsman isn’t the typical chauvinist pig, though. He’s keeping a secret that even the psychic doesn’t anticipate.

A close encounter with a Cardinal’s bullet knocks Marcia off her game when the police need her most. She loses hours to trances and ghosts haunt her sleep. Trace was facing a showdown over the poker table, when she walked into the saloon..

She killed the zombie, chugged an Old Grand Dad and left. He followed her.

Why did she look so familiar? Then, he remembered the Wanted poster.

When he called her Red, she thought, it might be easier to shoot him now.

She tried to keep an emotional distance, but her posse kept growing at every stop she made.

Was she the only one of her kind? Was she a miracle?

Would she be their salvation or their curse?

Animated Animals. Pictures, Images and Photos  5 STARS – Would Buy It For Them (lol)

I gave this book five stars, because it was a total surprise. I thought – Zombies – Wild West – where can she go with this. And she took me on a ride through towns, prairies, hot and cold and everything you can think the Wild West would include. Except for the Zombies. A unique read and I am always happy to come across a book that surprises me and takes me off on a new and different adventure.

This was a quick read. Gripping from the first pages. Once I started it, I couldn’t put it down. Didn’t even want to write this review. I wanted to go right into the next book. But, I have found, when I do that, I end up totally confused when it comes time to write the review. So I will do this first, then, you better believe I will be grabbing my Kindle and reading Survivor Roundup, The Zombie West Series #2. So be sure and come back for the next review.

Read like a real Western, except for the Zombies. My dad always loved Westerns. And when I was younger, there weren’t all the TV channels you have today. So I read a lot of his books and watched The Rifleman, Bonanza, Maverick, Cheyenne, Gene Autry, Gunsmoke, Have Gun Will Travel…….Too many to name. When I remember them, I have fond memories of my dad. So, thank you Angela, for bringing those memories back to me.

Even though it was an arc, it was well written and flowed smoothly. I raced through the pages, not knowing what would happen to Red. It is rare for me to find a book so full of surprises and that rates very high with me. There is plenty of gore, slashing and ripping, biting and munching. The blood flies along with the body parts.

And Romance, plenty of that too. Even though Red tries to avoid it, Trace won’t give up on her. As her posse grows, so does her love for them.

I won a signed, first edition, paperback Arc of Wanted: Dead Or Undead, The Zombie West Series #1 by Angela Scott, back in December and she signed it “Babies are super cute – until they want to eat you.” How cool is that? I had to make it the title to my post, it was too good to pass up and every time I look at it, I get a big grin on my face and laugh quietly.

Then, in April, I won Survivor Roundup, Book 2. The books were screaming at me to be read. I am so glad I won Book 2, because I wanted to start reading it as soon as I finished with Wanted: Dead or Undead. So I can. And you can too. Dead Plains, Book 3, is due out this fall.

Be sure and read the author bio. I love learning about the authors of the books I read and oftentimes find them as entertaining as the books themselves. Like a super short story.

I am so happy to make your acquaintance, Melanie Atkins – Author Of Blood Bound

.I cannot believe I was unaware of this prolific writer of love, suspense and mystery. I looked at her list of books and was staggered by the titles that jumped off the page and said:

“Read Me Please. I have been waiting for you for a very long time.”

For your chance at one of her books, go to the end of the post and enter often.

 BLURB:

Fueled by grief after his fiancée is brutally murdered, Detective Sam Walker focuses on finding her killer — a calculating predator who binds books with human skin.  Dani Barrington, the newest member of NOPD’s Victim and Witness Assistance Unit and a survivor of another frightening attack, helps him discover the terrifying link between the monster’s known victims.  Despite his anguish, Sam is struck by Dani’s strength and determination, especially when her inquisitive  nature makes her the killer’s next target.  He must find a way to protect her or risk losing the one woman who can bring his dead heart back to life.

 EXCERPT

Blood_Bound_Book_Cover_Banner“Forgive me, Father, for I have sinned.” NOPD Detective Sam Walker’s low rasp echoed inside the tiny confessional within the deep recesses of St. Mary’s Church. He pressed his damp palms to his thighs. “It’s been nine months since my last confession.”

“Continue.”

“My sins are… indescribable…” He let the word trail off. Sweat pooled at the base of his spine. “I don’t know if I can–“

“You must voice your transgressions, son, to get them off your chest. It’s the only way to gain absolution.”

 “I don’t deserve God’s forgiveness.”

“Sam, tell me the truth.” Father O’Malley cleared his throat. “Is this about Kristen?”

“She died a horrible death,” Sam whispered, his heart breaking all over again for his fiancée and the family he would never have with her.

 The priest paused.

“It’s been a long time.”

“Eight fucking — sorry, Father.” Sam broke off and swallowed, doing his best to regain his composure. “Eight long months. I thought I was coping, but I can’t get past it. Especially since I’m the reason she’s dead.”

“How did you come to that conclusion?”

Sam pressed his lips together. Every time he thought about his fiancée’s brutal murder, his gut clenched. He should have taken her to dinner that night like he’d promised, instead of letting the job get in the way. The Glock riding his hip was a constant reminder he’d been a detective first, and her intended husband second.

God should damn me straight to hell.

Father O’Malley shifted inside the tiny booth, and the ornate screen between them shuddered. The too-sweet odor of funeral lilies wafted over Sam.

“You didn’t murder her, my son. Some sick, depraved individual did it.”

“I was supposed to protect her.”

 “You were doing your job.”

“When I should have been with her. Keeping her safe.” Agony pierced his soul. He dropped his elbows to his knees and hung his head. His voice broke. “I let her die.”

“You didn’t let her die, Sam. A terrible thing happened. It wasn’t your fault. God doesn’t hold you responsible.”

“Well, He should. I’m guilty.”

“Sam–“

“He… he skinned her, Father. I don’t know why, but he did.” Tears burned his eyes.

Clearly shaken, Father O’Malley murmured more words of condolence. “I’ll say another prayer for her soul.”

“It’s my fault she’s gone. I can never do enough penance to make up for it.” Sam shuddered. “Not in this lifetime.”

“I want you to say one Our Father and one Hail Mary.”

 Sam barked a harsh laugh.

“That doesn’t even scratch the surface. I can’t even–“

“Wait. I’m not finished.” Father O’Malley regained his poise, and his strong, even tone reverberated in Sam’s ears. “I also want you to pray for the person responsible for Kristen’s death.”

“Hell, no!” Sam blurted, the idea of absolution jolting his brittle psyche. “I can’t pray for that sick son of a bitch. He’s killed four women, including Kristen, after brutalizing them, and we have no idea who he is. We’re working day and night–“

“That’s your penance, son.” Father O’Malley said, gravely. “In addition, you must perform the Act of Contrition and say the Rosary. Don’t let that individual’s cruel soul steal yours.”

Grand Finale for daynight by Megan Thomason!

On Tour with Prism Book Tours

Megan ThomasonWelcome to the “Second Chances” daynight blog tour! Over the last few day/nights I was really excited to share with you:

Over $300 of daynight-related prizes as a giant THANK YOU to the thousands of daynight early adopters and those who have yet to enter the twisted world of The Second Chance Institute and Thera. Want to prepare for Exile? Or an overday date with Ethan? Have breakfast for dinner? Glam it up in Garden City? There are *12* prize packages to be won! We’ll introduce a new package every day of the tour so you’ll have a second, third & so forth chance to win.
.
The launch of clean slate complex (a daynight story)… For those who have read daynight you can learn more about what the SCI is up to on Earth (surely nothing good). For those who haven’t read daynight this is a great way to get your feet wet…test the waters so to speak. I warn you though…the SCI’s like Jaws Jr and the giant school of barracuda I encountered on my recent vacation–pretty from a distance, but up close they’ve got a lot of bite ;).
.
Posters, teasers and guest posts about the themes of daynight and clean slate complex... Plus, I’m fully prepared to sneak in some nuggets about what to expect in the daynight sequel, arbitrate.
.
Thanks again for joining us on the tour and for your support of daynight. I’m grateful for all of you and humbled by your support.

April   22 – Launch!

My Seryniti – Review

I honestly didn’t know who to trust.

Little Library Muse – Part I of III

Thankfully I got Brad Darcton, a member of the ruling Ten of the SCI to help me out… no one said that I couldn’t bring a guest to my guest post so I’m going for it. I warn you to take what he says with a grain of salt. The guy’s a walking SCI propaganda poster.

23 – Tressa’s Wishful Endings – Part II of III

The dystopia category is pretty broad these days. By definition a dystopian world must have:Extremely bad living conditions due to deprivation, oppression, or terrorBy that definition my kids probably think our home qualifies.

– Buckeye Girl ReadsExcerpt:

Marked by Books Review

I don’t necessarily think that the SCI is evil, even though I may believe that some of the things they do are. They have a reason for doing what they do, and I’m so thankful to Megan for daring to explain those “whys.”

Red Headed Bookworm – Part III of III

Brad: We want only the best for humanity. All you have to do is turn on the news on Earth to know that humanity’s been in a downward spiral. Someone’s got to step up and nip these issues in the bud. And I don’t know any organization better prepared to do just than than The Second Chance Institute.

24 – Coffee Books and Me – Guest Post

The idea for Thera came to me as I was hiking the canyons of San Diego…

Snuggling on the SofaReview

I have to say how refreshing I found this book when I began to read it.

Christy’s Cozy CornerExcerpt

All Fantasy WordsReview

daynight is a gripping, fast-paced novel that combines the intricacies of science and technology with a sense of magic and surrealism.

26 – My Passion for BooksReview

I was very impressed with this book. I read it in a couple of days, even though I had a lot of work to do for school and other things. I just couldn’t put it down.

Bookaroo-Ju – Teaser

27 – Bookworm Lisa – Guest Post – The Characters

I needed all three characters to fully tell the story… Each perspective adds important pieces to the puzzle and as the characters collide there’s a few fireworks.

Getting Your Read OnReview x2

We get a glimpse of the characters from daynight in this novella and it definitely perked my interest in the next book to see how everything fits back together and intertwines.

                – All Fantasy Worlds – CSC Review

clean slate complex was a fast read and it went very well after reading daynight. You know that feeling when you finish reading a good novel and you know you’re going to miss the characters and the world the author created so much until the next book comes out? Well, this novella is perfect for those who need their daynight fix.

28 – Fantastical World of WondersReview

All in all, this book was a nice read that’ll leave you wondering what’s going to happen next.

Pause Time – Part I of III:

There’s nothing like starting the morning with a little controversy, so let’s get a couple important things out of the way:
– So what is Cleaving?

A Backwards Story – Part II of III:

Many readers have mistaken all the Cleaving discussion for pushing sex. On the contrary, it is all about who you end up with for life.

daynight excerpt                – Beck Valley Books – Part III of III

Extremes are extreme by nature and intended to shed very bright light on societal parallels and make the reader think, feel uncomfortable even.

29 – I Am a Reader, Not a WriterTeaser

Books MystifyReview

What I expected did not happen, especially what I predicted with the Blake and Kira’s relationship… I like it because it was a twist for me…

Mel’s ShelvesReview

Wow!! I’m really not sure where to start with this one. This book is full of twists and turns and turns and more turns. There’s LOTS of secrets, deceit, betrayal, friendship, love, lust, power hungry adults, creepy rules, etc. You name it, this has it (aside from swearing and detailed sex–a plus).

Theme 5 photo Escapism-Poster_zps341ec470.jpg
30 – Letters to the Cosmos – Review

The story starts on page one, the writing is fantastic, the characters are well-drawn, and the narrative is so much… more than a YA dystopian novel.

                – Arriane Cruz Part I of II

Escapism: an inclination to retreat from unpleasant realities through diversion or fantasy.

                – Candace’s Book Blog Part II of II

Knowing that escaping won’t make the bad stuff go away, why do we do it? I think that the diversions and fantasies can give our brains enough of a “timeout” to be able to return back to our circumstances with renewed vigor and determination.

May      1 – Life of a YA Girl – Review

You never know who to trust. You honestly don’t even know until the very end. Some of the characters, who will remain nameless, you still don’t know their true intentions! I can’t wait to read Thomason’s next book, once it comes out. I’m just dying to know what happens to these characters, if who we think we can trust is really trustworthy… if the SCI has some other twisted objective.

Theme 5 photo Home-Visit-Excerpt_zps5c3e2cbf.jpgFuonlyknew – Excerpt – What a tour!

2 – A Tiffyfit’s Reading Corner – Review

If you can’t tell just yet, this was a five star read. Many of my notes in my kindle are highlights that say “HOLY CRAP” or “OMG!” or “ARE YOU FLIPPING KIDDING ME?!” My poor kindle probably has bruises from me punching the screen with my finger to get to the next page as quickly as I could.

Lovin’ Los Libros – Review – daynight & CSC:

There is a bit of a love triangle here, as both Adam and Joshua have expressed interest in Alexa. We get a pretty big plot twist and Alexa learns SCI is not at all what it claims to be, and Joshua’s allegiance is wishy washy at best.Alexa, Adam, and  Joshua will all appear in Arbitrate, the second book in the Daynight series.

I can’t wait!

Paulette’s Papers Part I of II

You are thrust into a dystopian society. What do you do? Do you submit to the regime or fight to the death?

Becky’s Barmy Book Blog  Part II of II

Theme 6 photo Exiler-Excerpt_zpsef7dab17.jpgGood news! We’ll likely die before being forced to live in a dystopian society. Our only exposure will be through fiction. And thank goodness. Because realistically, none of us would have much of a chance of making it in a dystopia without meeting an early demise or becoming one of the brain-dead masses.

Cinnamon Roll Pancakes

– Living a Goddess Life – Review; Recipe:

Theranberry Bread Pudding

5 – Sab, The Book Eater – Part I of II

What a weird feeling. I started daynight over 3 years ago. I spent more than 6 months writing, and way more than 6 months doing edits and rewrites.

Mortality Bites – Part II of II

daynight explored the SCI’s iron grip on Thera and the Second Chancers. clean slate complex explores what the SCI is up to on Earth (nothing good).

       – Deco My Heart – Review

There are many sinister things about Thera that are slowly revealed and lots of twists and turns which makes for an interesting read.

6 – Jack’s Junk Drawer – Review

The opening prologue was hilarious. I don’t think I’ve ever laughed so hard so soon when reading a book

The Reading Diaries – Review

The book is filled
with twists and turns that kept me guessing till the last page I had a hard
time putting it down.

Book Snob – Review

Daynight is a creative alternative world.  It contains a great love triangle and is entertaining and suspenseful.  I love being transported outside my realm of knowledge to new places that exist only between the pages of a book.  Thomason has created believable characters, sexual tension, fast moving plot and dangerous living conditions.

Another “KILLER” Book by Susan Fleet – Dark Deeds

DARK DEEDS the e-book is here!Twelve case files from Susan’s blog posts with new and updated material! Serial killers:A pretty farm girl feeds her victims to the hogs.

Stalkers: You’re the one that I want … to kill.

Domestic homicides: A cross-dressing doctor murders his wife.

“In Dark Deeds, Susan Fleet immerses us in the world of serial killers, stalkers, and domestic homicides. Even an inveterate fiction enthusiast like myself found her real-life tales obsessively haunting and educational.” — Arthur Smukler, MD, psychiatrist and author of Chasing Backwards, a psychological murder mystery
No one knows how many serial killers are roaming the United States. Some experts believe they murder as many as 180 people each year. Others say the count may be much higher because some serial killers hide the bodies and they’re never found.Stalkers far outnumber serial killers. Each year they threaten and intimidate 3.4 million people in America. Although stalkers may profess love for the objects of their obsession, many seriously injure or kill their “love object.”Domestic homicide is rampant in the US. Every day, 3 women, 3 children and 1 man die in domestic violence. Women and children rarely kill family members. Men commit the majority of domestic homicides. Some are crimes of passion. Others are carefully calculated. Why bother with a divorce when you can kill your spouse?Available all over the world. Get your copy today!
