Sherry’s Shelves #198 – Are You Ready For Some…Football & Freebies #football #freebooks

Sherry’s Shelves #198 is my blog update from 10.6.19 – 10.12.19.

LATEST HAPPENINGS

Hi All. I am watching College Gameday as I prepare this post. All I can say is GO BLUE. Do you watch football or have a favorite team? Well, not really a lot happening around the fundinmental household. Been doing some reading, some blogging, some yardwork and I had to visit the dentist. Man, oh man, do I hate doing that, but I have gotten much better. JUST DO IT and then it is done, instead of all the anticipation and dread by putting it off. We are getting some rain today. It’s just a drizzle really, cloudy and dark, but we so desperately needed it. I can’t even remember the last time it rained. Still warm and enjoying the outdoors. What’s the weather like in your neck of the woods?

  1. I went to a school with a crappy football team, but when I lived in Florida, I did watch a lot of college football. I always liked it better than NFL games. Hope your team won.

  2. My brother-in-law is my dentist and he is crazy funny, so I never worry about visiting him.

I know nothing about sports. My sons and husband are big sports fans, so people assume I am, too. I have to fake things a lot!

    Have a great week!

    • lucky you having a dentist in the family. my guy is pretty good…so good, i’ll be seeing him again tomorrow…but that’s just for a cleaning and checkup. it’s not hard to fake being a fan, ya just cheer when they cheer. lol

    • i was a single mom with a young boy and got into football by watching it with him. i even taught him how to throw one. 🙂 we do what we have to do.

  3. Thanks for the free horror books! Just perfect for this time of the year!

We don’t get a lot of rain where I live and I freaking hate it! I would love to have weather like England where it rains a lot. I love cloudy days.

    • i love weather of all kinds, but my fave is still sunny and warm. i hope you found a book or two to enjoy

  4. Never been a football fan or well any sport…lol. So hope you enjoyed your watching.

Seeing that you reviewed Beneath London’s Fog reminded me I need to read it soon…lol.

  5. We love college football. I always cheer on my Alma Mater – Marshall University, whenever I can find the game on TV. We have a few other faves as well – Florida State, Ohio State and Georgia Bulldogs. Honestly we just like to watch a good game. We also like Michigan and I felt bad when you had Dana Holgorsen dumped on you (I am not a WVU fan and never liked him – I always called him the Mad Hatter). Hope you enjoyed your weekend.

    • lol. good one. always nice to talk to another football fan and i agree, i do enjoy watching any good game too.

    • being here in florida, i do miss the crunch of the fallen leaves beneath my feet and the smell that tells me fall is here

  6. I used to watch American football but the time difference here in the UK means that the later games are on when I’m in my bed so I stopped watching it. I need more sleep these days! My team was the New Orleans Saints. The cold autumn has taken hold in the UK now but it’s ok to go outside in with a decent coat. I’m staying close to the fire though!

    • i can see why you quit watching. 🙂 the saints were robbed of the super bowl last year and i hate that drew brees is hurt and not playing. they are hanging in there though and i conntinue to enjoy them, though the lions are my fave. i would be hanging by the fire too. 🙂

    • it is weird how fast the weather can turn. it’s raining here again today, but we sure did need it
