Hello fellow bloggers. I knew when Trump was elected, that we would all receive an in your face lesson on how our government really works.
Well, it was a wild and frightening day Wednesday. Almost, unbelievable. I have read so many books that it wasn’t a total surprise, yet I do not understand how our leaders could stand by and allow such a thing to happen. Then, as I watched the electoral college (which I believe should be eliminated) roll to confirm Joe Biden and Kamala Harris as President and Vice President, I could not believe some of the politicians speaking. Why are they not totally outraged over someone trying to stage a coup…and whether anyone wants to believe it or not, that is what it was…An attack on our constitution, that they were claiming to uphold.
I normally don’t watch news, but I couldn’t tear myself away for the entire day. I am curious to see what they will do today. Are they going to stand by like they have been and let those who are behind the coup walk away? It is mind blowing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don’t people understand what really happened? Are THEY going to sweep it under the rug and pretend nothing happened. AND, what about all the secrets Trump and his family hold.
This is how dictators are born. Tough to face the fact that it could happen here, but why not? SO…I ASK THOSE IN THE HOUSE AND SENATE…ARE YOU A MAN/WOMAN OR A MOUSE?
I feel if I don’t say something, I am part of the problem. This is too big to be ignored.

Sherry, I feel exactly as you do. I feel like I have been quiet long enough. I, too, am outraged.
I’ve had a hard time focusing on other things. But there is really nothing I can do right now, short of speaking out on my blog. I’m trying to focus on staying calm.
100% with you Sherry. It’s been disgusting for five years and they just keep getting away with it. If there aren’t some arrests and accounting for all these crimes and sedition, I’m going to be pissed and also frightened even more for our country. Here’s to an impeachment this week!

I am disgusted by everything going on in Washington. I knew that Wednesday would be bad but I didn’t think it would escalate to the level that it did. I hope this week goes by much more smoothly.
I couldn’t agree more. I think people want to just ride this out and wait for him to be gone, but you can’t let stuff like this slide. It’s just unbelievable.

I agree Sherry, Trump and his political enablers need to be held to account, to do otherwise will embolden both him and his base.

thanks for the comments fellow patriots. i felt i had to say something because staying quiet only enables those who wish our democracy harm.
I understand how the Electoral College works in reality with the allocated votes and 270 and all that. I studied that at school. I’m no fan of that system personally. I think it’s a bit weird that the person that fewer people vote for can be President, and the one with more votes can lose. I can never get my head around that!
