A short but intense and heartwarming story that brought tears to my eyes as young and old alike come together, giving, sharing, and adding so much goodness to everyone’s life.

Joseph was a shabby
imitation of Santa Clause with his Salvation Army kettle in front of a
K-mart, but what no one could have guessed was that Joseph was a miracle
waiting to happen. This inspiring Christmas story tells the true tale
of how a group of teenage carolers changed the life of a down-and-out
bum. A moving and unforgettable read!
Well, what can I say about these characters…that they leave a lot to be desired is putting it mildly, as they will throw each other under the bus as the mystery surrounding the murder brings forth some misdirection and plenty of suspects that may keep you guessing as the last drink is drunk and the party has ended.
I voluntarily reviewed a free copy of The Last Dinner Party by Carly M Duncan.
GOODREADS BLURB

travels unknown and a curious relationship between Jeanie and the
charming salesman who frequents the apartment building. Meryl, Jeanie’s
devoted and needy friend, further complicates the investigation when she
phones Jeanie’s sister who is studying abroad and lies to her about the
cause of death. Through a muddied pool of misdirection and betrayal,
will Anna and Kristy be able to assemble the clues in order to bring
Jeanie’s killer to justice? The path to solving the mystery becomes
tangled with faces of loved ones who are revealed to be foes in this
story about the lengths people will go to in order to save themselves.

Hello fellow bloggers. I hope you have all had a great week, filled with family, fun and a lot of great books. It’s been a while and I just returned from a vacation to the north. We spent ten wonderful days touring and visiting friends and family in Connecticut, Rhode Island, Boston and Cape Cod. You can see the pictorial tour HERE.
I did a lot of binge reading while traveling. Does anyone else hate to fly?
The weather here in the Florida Panhandle is still warm and sunny and I am lovin’ every minute of it. It was twenty degrees cooler during the day and even more at night up there. For the first time in a long time, we got rained out one day. We still toured around, but I shot all my photographs from the dryness of the car that day. Have I turned into a wuss? LOL
I have some great giveaways going on and a few reviews to share, so feel free to browse to your heart’s content.

Here we go again, another book I don’t know who gave it to me or when I got it, but Water’s Blood by Elaine Calloway was released 1.28.13. So I will share a one sentence review.
Walking the New Orleans streets, the Elementals search for the Minare, the Fallen Angels, but Brooke, a Water Elemental has an even more important mission of her own, to save her human family, and everything about the book made me want to read it, though, I did have some trouble with Ella, until I let my mind go and the fantasy take me where it will.
GOODREADS BLURB
Nature’s
Elementals—Earth, Wind, Fire, and Water—have lived for countless
millennia. Disguised as humans, they are charged with one mission:
protect the innocent from fallen angel clans, who reap human souls and
force them to do their bidding.
Brooke, a Water Elemental
stationed in New Orleans, broke the rules once—she mated with a human.
For her indiscretion, she is forbidden to share a life with her loved
ones: NOPD officer Alex and their half-breed daughter, Ella.
Now Ella is about to turn sixteen, and the local clan of fallen angels is determined to snare her soul by Halloween.
Brooke broke the rules once by allowing love to interfere with her mission. Now she and Alex must put consequences aside to break the rules again—if they wish to save their daughter’s soul.

The books I have been sharing for the Backlog post are from the documents on my Kindle. I am trying to read through them so I can delete them. Some have been hanging around for a very long time, others not so much.
This week, I’m sharing Lynda Filler’s Code Raven: Prequel, a thriller novella. Love that cover…and whenever I see a crow it gets my mind working…something evil this way comes.
I don’t know when I downloaded it or where I got it from, but the Code Raven: Prequel was released 7.16.18.
The Code Raven: Prequel is a wild and amazing introduction to a thrilling series and I found the characters to be unique, fascinating, and highly skilled.

I love this cover for Dead Eye by Alyssa Day. Any story located in Florida is always on my list, and it looked like such a fun read…free too. Be sure and check for the ‘0’ and pick up a copy for yourself.
With such a great cover and destination, I could not pass on this wonderful paranormal mystery that spotlights a shapeshifter, a tiger to be precise, an I can see how you die pawnshop owner, and an orphan girl, as the danger draws closer the mystery draws them together and I can hardly wait to read more from Alyssa Day.

Ghost Storm by Jessie Renee was published on 9.3.15 and has sat in my Documents on Kindle for, well, probably, almost that long. Why it took me so long to visit Hidden Bay, I can’t say for sure, but, now that I have, I would like to return again…and again.
I was so happy to visit these wonderful characters and Hidden Bay, where nothing is at it seems and there is a special someone that will help to soothe the lost souls, maybe even find a little romance in Ghost Storm, an engrossing supernatural tale that left me wanting to revisit them.
GOODREADS BLURB
Melodie thought Hidden Bay was just another stop in her nomadic life. That soon she’d be moving on again.
But
as soon as she arrives, strange things begin to happen. There’s Blake,
the guy who’s so familiar, though she’s sure she’s never met him;
there’s the man who keeps appearing, who may not be a man at all; and
there’s the blackouts.
Except that in the blackness, she’s going somewhere. Somewhere other. Somewhere dark, and wet, and full of pain.
And if she doesn’t work out what it all means soon, it could be too late. For her. For Blake. Perhaps for the whole town of Hidden Bay.
