5 Stars? An emphatic yes! Two thumbs up? No doubt!
A Christmas Kindness by Cheryl C Malandrinos and illustrated by Caroline Mabey is a wonderful story depicting one of life’s lessons, the value of a gift, no matter how big or how small.
Eight year old Robert wants nothing more than to tell Santa what he wants for Christmas. He even wrote it down so he wouldn’t get it wrong. What a wonderful time to share in the innocence and wonder of a child.
A Christmas Kindness by Cheryl C Malandrinos may have been written for children, but I loved it. Not only do we get a fabulous story that will put a smile on a parent’s face as they read it with their child, but it has interactive projects that anyone can do and the cost is minimal, sometimes repurposing some of those items that may have been tossed in the trash. I see many subjects that could come up as parents share this marvelous book with their children.

Nick Clausen has done an amazing job with the Dead Meat series and I am totally invested in sticking with it til the end to see how he wraps it up. That being said, I have my fingers crossed that my favorite characters will still be alive when it is all said and done.
Well, this is the final day of the zombie apocalypse and I have had my fingers crossed that my favorite character, Dan, will make it to the end. TODAY, his mission is to find his father. Will he be dead dead? Will he be a zombie, making it possible for Dan to cure him?
I can picture Dan with the water gun. How about having a little fun in zombieland?
As we near the end of our journey, Nick Clausen has never failed in the world building and dangerous times…and it is nail biting, spine tingling, with characters to love and hate. He kept me on my toes with the pacing and suspense as I wondered who he would kill off next. Would be favorite characters(s) be left alive when their journey ends?
My rating: I have been doing so much reading since Covid entered our lives that I think my ratings have changed and it is even harder to get my attention, keep it, and make me race through the pages…because I HAVE TO KNOW! Nick Clausen was able to do that with Dead Meat: Day 9. This series has been unpredictable and unputdownable and five stars is well deserved!
Now, I’m curious…what’s next Nick?

ABOUT NICK CLAUSEN
Born 1988 in North Jutland,
where I still live with my wife, who also happened to be my earliest
childhood girlfriend. From 2017 I have lived as a full-time writer. Up
until then, I had different jobs beside the writing. I have been
studying as a carpenter for three years, and have also read two years of
psychology at Aalborg University. It turned out that the writing had a
much more powerful pull on me.
I decided early on that I would be an author when I grew up. In
fact, the decision came to me already when I read my first book,
Snevampyren by Dennis Jürgensen. My first “real” stories I wrote at
14-15 years of age. They were rejected by the publisher, but still got
praise. There were some years when I was busy with being a teenager and
trying to get an education before I suddenly remembered that I should
be an author.
That day I made a promise
to write 1,000 words a day until I got a book published. I sat down and
started writing. I continued to write every single day for a year and a
half. I sent the finished manuscripts to different publishers, and the
rejections piled up. Twelve of them by the end. But each time I could
feel it was a little bit better. The criticism became more positive. The
thirteenth story was called Tidevandet, and it was adopted by the
publisher and came out a year later.
I have always enjoyed writing, although in the beginning I put a lot
of pressure on myself. My approach to the process has become much more
free over the years. For example, I no longer plan my stories. That
way, I feel that I’m experiencing the story while writing it and the
characters feel like real people. I do not know where the ideas come
from, but I’ve never had trouble finding them.
It is so exciting to be back in Klamath Falls, Oregon, with Henry Shore, but I do so with a heavy heart. Kathryn Meyer Griffith is wrapping up the story in Dinosaur Lake VI, and I will sorely miss the characters I have grown to love. She has surprised me with the story, taking me to a place I never anticipated and I do so love when an author can do that.
Henry is back at Crater Lake National Park…this time as a visitor, touring the wintry back roads in a camper, reminiscing about his past adventures. He had to catch a fish for dinner, because Ann had not stocked the pantry and they were deep in the backwoods, unable to easily drive into town. He thought of their dinosaur friend, Oscar, who he sorely missed, but they all the dinosaurs were gone now. I feel so much sorrow for Henry.
A snow storm was coming, so it was time to leave the park while they could get out.
I am so invested in the characters and how their lives have changed throughout the books. When Justin came to visit Henry, everything came rushing back for him…and for me. Henry needs a mission and Justin has just the thing.
I cannot tell you a lot about the book, because if you haven’t read the previous ones, and think aliens and dinosaurs are for you, I do not want to spoil them for you. I want you to experience them for yourself and I highly recommend the series. But I will tell you it is…
Original, exciting, action packed, loaded with characters that can steal your heart. Kathryn Meyer Griffith’s descriptive writing makes it easy to get lost in the world she has created. We do have some evil dinosaurs and a couple of alien space ships. I did not anticipate how she would wrap the series up, but she did it in a splendid fashion.
I love what Kathryn Meyer Griffith did with the Dinosaur Lake series and could see this easily being made into a TV or movie series.

AMAZON SYNOPSIS
Henry Shore has spent the last decade hunting for, fighting, protecting people from, and exterminating rogue dinosaurs in his beloved Crater Lake National Park, and the towns around it. Once the Chief Park Ranger there, now he’s retired and, since all the dinosaurs are supposedly gone, he’s trying to live his best retirement life. Except, for Henry, that doesn’t seem to be possible…because of a new sorrow he’s had to shoulder, and a new insidious breed of super-smart, highly intuitive dinosaurs that have suddenly emerged to again menace humanity. Henry is asked to track them down; and he’s dragged back into the fray. Besides being asked to battle this new threat, Henry has also been invited by his paleontologist son-in-law, Doctor Justin Maltin, to join a top-secret government team of research scientists at Area 52 investigating the original and apparently ancient origins, of the earth’s earlier plague of dinosaurs–and two mysterious alien spaceships stored there. What Henry becomes a part of turns out to be so much more than even he could have imagined. A true alien enigma. There’s something mysteriously mindboggling at Area 52 and Henry will help uncover its mystery, and, in doing so, will have the most incredible experience of his life–and that’s saying a lot for a seasoned dinosaur hunter.
ABOUT KATHRYN MEYER GRIFFITH
Since childhood I’ve been an artist and worked as a graphic designer in
the corporate world and for newspapers for twenty-three years before I quit to
write full time. But I’d already begun writing novels at 21, over fifty years
ago now, and have had thirty-three (romantic horror, horror novels, romantic SF
horror, romantic suspense, romantic time travel, historical romance, thrillers,
non-fiction short story collection, and murder mysteries) previous novels, and
thirteen short stories, published from various traditional publishers since
1984. But I’ve gone into self-publishing in a big way since 2012; and upon
getting all my previous books’ full rights back for the first time in 35 years,
have self-published all of them. My six Dinosaur Lake novels and Spookie Town
Murder Mysteries (Scraps of Paper, All Things Slip Away, Ghosts Beneath Us, Witches
Among Us, What Lies Beneath the Graves, All Those Who Came Before, When the
Fireflies Returned) are my best-sellers.
I’ve been married to Russell for over forty-three years; have a son, two

greatest passion, my butterfly stage, and I’ll probably write stories until the

MY REVIEW
Whoa…The Prologue grabbed me and the story never let me go! It made me sad and angry and ready to fight.
Rune could fight his thoughts as much as he wants, but when he met Hadyn, he met his match. I quickly fell in love with her sassy attitude. She shows no fear, though he thinks she should. He doesn’t need dragon flames to set her body on fire.
Hadyn had tracked down Rune, and it was luck that she found him when she did. Her parents had told her to RUN to Rune., a rogue black dragon with a bounty on his head. He doesn’t know it, but he has friends and they will need them to rescue her parents from the Alliance.
Rune had been an enforcer for the Alliance, chosen to uphold dragon law. BUT, the laws were breaking down and Rune knew he could no longer continue in the same way. Now, with Hadyn, he will have to make his move.
Abigail Owen’s vivid descriptions of the characters and action, the dragons in flight, almost make my stomach lurch with the twisting and plummeting through the air. The romance is obvious, but that’s okay with me. The dialogues and thoughts are humorous, at times, and I love when danger and humor collide. Makes for some fascinating characters, with well developed personalities. Half the time I am gritting my teeth, the other half I am smiling at their antics.
Cracking up at dialogue like:
“…you’re awful cute when you get all alpha-hole-y.”
“Well, hello there Grumpalumapagus….”
Beware, the sex is fiery hot!
It’s always fun to see how Abigail Owen will take a familiar storyline and add a fresh twist. She gives her characters, at least the spotlighted ones, a happy ever after, but I am still fearing for them. I know it will not be all laughs and fun and games and I know not all of them will survive. That is what I fear the most.
The tears did flow…and flow. The minute I thought they would stop, Abigail Owen put me on pins and needles, showing me no mercy and I LOVE IT! The tears kept flowing and I kept rereading parts…because I have to. More tears…Even though I know, or I think I know how the story will end, she keeps me on my toes and my emotions roiling. This may be my favorite Fire’s Edge book yet.

And then the most enticing woman he’s ever met barges into his mountain, demanding an audience.Hadyn Reece’s future was ripped away long ago. The man fated to be her mate was murdered alongside her parents before Hadyn was old enough to be turned, leaving her to be raised and trained by her dead mate’s parents in the dragon shifter world. Now, the Alliance has come for the only family she has left. It’s a good thing she was raised by dragons, because the only one who can help her save them is a traitor she’d be smart to fear.Especially when his dragon decides she’s theirs.

Preorder HERE and Some Truth Can Be Distorted by Jane Blythe will be delivered to your KIndle on August 2,2021.
Woo Hoo. We are back in River’s End, where the serial killers run free…until someone catches them, and romance is in the air. Some Truth Can Be Distorted by Jane Blythe is the fourth book in the series, but no worries, they can stand alone.
YAY, back in River’s End with some hunkalicious males and the women who love them…And right from the beginning Jane Blythe ripped my heart out!
After two years, Renee is at a standstill in her life and River’s End calls to her. I hurt for her…and when she runs into Will, my heart breaks all over again for her.
Will was a Navy Seal, now working as an undercover cop. He felt the time was right to propose to Renee, his lawyer girlfriend. He was excited to be home, but when he pulled up to the house, like Renee, his spidey senses started tingling. He had waited too long. It was too late.
Some Truth Can Be Distorted by Jane Blythe has all the feels for a romantic suspense novel. Even though Renee is alive after being raped, all the emotional baggage come into play, fear, shame, humliation, loss. The facts don’t matter, it is all about the feelings…and Will would make HIM pay.
Will had left Renee to find HIM, and now, ten months later, she is alone. Will had walked away and she doesn’t want him any more. He had abandoned her and destroyed her trust. Will she give him a second chance?
When Renee meets the ladies, Meadow, Maggie, Poppy and Sydney, we all got a smile. They accept her with no questions asked. I want Renee to have all the things that make life complete and I have a feeling these ladies will play a part. After all, River’s End is a small town where everyone knows your name.
Jane Blythe can sure pen a novel filled with Despair and devastation, hope and loss, and…Will…OMG…I love him! He is persistent, patient, passionate, powerful.
How many bad things can happen to a good person? With Jane Blythe there is no hard and fast rule. She is able to create a sense of danger and anticipation of something bad happening lingers on every page. I know something evil is coming, just not how or when. She surprises me over and over again with her excellent and creative writing, characters that come alive, making me, at times, race through the pages and other times covering the words with my hand so I don’t get even a glimpse of what is coming
Some Truth Can Be Distorted and the River’s End seris by Jane Blythe is a perfect fit for me and I am LOVING them!

Woo Hoo. I am heading back to River’s End and I can hardly wait to see what some familiar characters are up to, what new characters I will meet and the danger they will face.
I am so happy that I could jump from Maggie and Theo’s story, straight into Sydney and Levi’s. I have spent some time in River’s End am loving every every minute of it. Hot guys and the women they love, danger and serial killers. Her books are filled with tense, unexpected moments, keeping the suspense at a high level. I don’t know what more I can want. 🙂
Sydney came to River’s End for a fresh start. The police had been there when she needed them, and she wanted to do the same for others. She is a deputy and the only woman amongst a crew of ex military men. Sounds like it could be verrrrrry interesting to me…and her first case is a murder. Who would have thunk it in such a small town, where everyone knows your name.
Levi, literally, bumped into newbie. He had grown up in River’s End and was curious about the newcomer. Is she a tourist or a resident? He is a doctor at Sacred Heart Hospital…funny, because we have a Sacred Heart Hospital here.
Levi’s brother, Abe is the serious one, Theo is the fun loving one, and Levi is the one that follows his heart…and it is falling for Sydney from the first moment they met.
Jane Blythe’s heroes are very patient men and they take a lot of cold showers. LOL Levi is not exception. I love that I can laugh even when I know danger is right around the corner, lurking in the shadows, just waiting for the moment someone lets their guard down to make their move.
There was a moment or two about 50% in that I didn’t like, but it all came together in a good way. I guess I was too quick to judge, but isn’t that what makes a story seem real? After all, we humans do have our faults and do stupid things at times.
WOW..that was a wild ride filled with ups and downs, danger and murder, life and death…and love. Even the serial killer got some empathy from me. I do love a great villain. Jane can create some tense, nail biting scenarios that are not trite and overused. She has her moments when she amazes me with her creative writing and characters that seem so real that once you know them, you don’t forget them. That’s what makes return trips to town such a reading pleasure.

How do you give an answer when you don’t understand the question?
Sydney Clark moved to River’s End for a fresh start, desperately wanting to put the past behind her. What she didn’t expect on her first day as a deputy in the Sheriff’s department was to be working a serial killer case, and a disturbing one at that. What she expected even less was to meet a man who will challenge everything her childhood taught her about men.
Levi Black knows what it’s like to watch the woman you love die, he’s been there twice before and it sucks, which is why he took himself out of circulation, flirting is fine—fun even—but anything deeper risks your heart. Then he meets Sydney. He can see in her eyes that she’s battling some pretty rough demons, and getting involved with a cop might be more than he’s prepared to risk, especially with an unpredictable serial killer stalking the town.

Tyler “Book” Malcolm has lived a life on the run. Off the grid, out of sight of the authorities. Hoping to escape a terrifying secret; to outrun what he has seen and what he has done.
Kane is an assassin who, with the help of the Machine, possesses the ability to assume the identity of anyone he wishes. He can strike without warning, and kill without mercy. Stronger than a dozen men, faster than sight itself, he can be anywhere, anytime.
When Book catches Kane’s eye, he discovers the world is even more dangerous than he knew. Book must ally himself with people who, like him, know that Kane is on the verge of remaking the world in his image.

I am a huge fan of Mimi Jean Pamfiloff and the Librarian’s Assistant series. Each book can be read as a stand alone, but I have read 3 out of 6 and have the bookset for books 1-3, so I plan on reading books 2 and 3 in the very near future.
I got The Librarian’s Vampire Assistant Book I by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff on a free day. It led me down a biting good path of laughs, love and vampires. I started with a smile and a chuckle. That’s a good sign and something Mimi Jean Pamfiloff does with ease. Michael Vanderhorst wasn’t looking for work, but he couldn’t resist her. Now, he’s a library assistant. Even though he saw Miriam coming, he never could have anticipated the affect she would have on his life. Hilarious, suspenseful, mouth wateringly, delightfully addictive.

From New York Times Bestseller Mimi Jean Pamfiloff comes a Horribly Sunny Mystery, The Librarian’s Vampire Assistant.
NOBODY MESSES WITH HIS LIBRARIAN. . .
Who
killed Michael Vanderhorst’s maker? It’s a darn good question. But when
the trail brings Michael to hellishly sunny Phoenix, Arizona, his
biggest problem soon becomes a cute little librarian he can’t seem to
stay away from. He’s never met a bigger danger magnet! Even her book
cart has it out for her. And is that the drug cartel following her
around, too? “Dear God, woman! What have you gotten yourself into?”
Things go from bad to worse when local vampires won’t play nice.
Can
this four-hundred-year-old vampire keep his librarian safe and himself
out of hot water? Can he bring his maker’s killer to justice? Yesterday,
he would’ve said yes. But yesterday, he didn’t have a strange
connection with a librarian. Yesterday, people weren’t trying to kill
her.
I won a signed copy of The Librarian’s Vampire Assistant Book 5 by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff and I was sooo excited. I had already picked up the first book on a free day and loved it, so I dove right in. Fortunately it can be read as a stand alone, so I didn’t have any trouble following along.
I am immediately drawn back into Michael and Miriam’s world, watching the characters grow and change, finding their place in a world not of their own making. When it comes to a sacrifice that may free her from the life of a vampire, will Miriam take it? No choice is easy. There are always consequences.
OMG… I loved the book, but as I read the last chapter, I laughed so hard I had tears in my eyes. This is not in anyway a vampire romance you have read before. Five stars for love, hope, laughter and sweet sweet Stella. I will sorely miss these characters, now that the story has been told and the series is done.
Humans can live without us, but we cannot live without them. And that is why they must always be protected, for better or worse, they are the species that make this world what it is.

If only Michael would help. After all, he’s the vampire king now. And this is one mystery she can’t solve on her own.
NEVER FALL FOR A LIBRARIAN!
MICHAEL VANDERHORST knows he’s changed. He can no longer love or laugh or enjoy hot peppers like he used to. But being an unfeeling, ruthless vampire is what it takes to rule the deadliest bloodsuckers on the planet. It’s the only way to keep humankind safe.
Problem is, his enemies know the librarian and his daughter are special to him. They are his to protect, even if he’s incapable of feeling love.
But when danger comes knocking at Miriam’s library door, he must choose between solving the biggest mystery of his existence and the woman he swore to protect.
“I am a Vampire Man! Vampire on the inside. Man on the outside. NOM NOM NOM
Michael and Miriam’s stories may be told, but we still have Mr Nice to deal with. Vampire Man picks up where Book 5 left off, but seeing it is Mr Nice’s story, a rebirth, if you will, it can stand by itself and he is about to get some very bad news. I feel for the messenger. You know the saying, right? Don’t kill the messenger? Well, Mr Nice could very well do that. There is a secret Mr Nice is keeping, thinking to unleash it when the time is right. We have good and bad vampires, as well as good and bad humans.
We have lots of laughs, danger and gruesome deaths, but love is the magic element that can make an evil vampire reevaluate what is important in life. Does he deserve a second chance?

GOODREADS BLURB
From New York Times Bestseller Mimi Jean Pamfiloff, comes a standalone Paranormal Romcom about second chances.
CAN THIS EVIL VAMPIRE CHANGE HIS WAYS?
Just
a few short years ago, a medical miracle turned this ancient evil
vampire into a human baby. Just a small setback in Mr. Nice’s plans for
world domination, right?
Wrong. Because now a slight problem with the transformation has left him aging five times faster than a regular human.
Sure,
he’s happier and stronger than he ever was in his past human life
(These vitamins do wonders!), but if he wants to live, he’ll have to
find a vampire willing to turn him. Fast!
Of course, none of
them are crazy enough to do it. Not after the hell he put the vampire
world through, including the vampire king.
“Will no one give me a second chance? I’m only a little bit evil now!”
Then,
just when all hope is lost, he walks into a library and meets the new
head librarian. She might be the only vampire on the planet who has no
clue who he is.
Can he convince her he’s a good man, one who deserves to live forever? Because she’ll only turn the man who’s destined to be her mate.
I have loved the series…so far…and will be reading Books 2 and 3 ASAP. This was free at time of posting, as was Book I
ABOUT MIMI JEAN PAMFILOFF
MIMI JEAN PAMFILOFF is a New York Times bestselling author who’s sold over one million books around the world. Although she obtained her MBA and worked for more than fifteen years in the corporate world, she believes that it’s never too late to come out of the romance closet and follow your dreams.
Mimi lives with her Latin lover hubby, two pirates-in-training (their boys), and their three spunky dragons (really, just very tiny dogs with big attitudes) Snowy, Mini, and Mack, in the vampire-unfriendly state of Arizona.
She hopes to make you laugh when you need it most and continues to pray daily that leather pants will make a big comeback for men.
We begin Day 7 with Dan, my favorite guy, and my heart breaks for him. I have been with him every step of the way, from Day 1, of the apocalypse.
I will warn you about the characters and Nick Clausen’s ability to kill them off, no matter how brave, courageous and selfless they may be. So be leery of falling in love with any of them.
“…the human body can go three weeks without food, three days without water…and 3 minutes without oxygen.”
Does that whet your appetite for suspense?
Iver, who we met in Book 6, is still alive. YAY! He is a wonderful character, putting his life on the line to do the right thing. Getting away from the ferry was pretty amazing, but, now, they are stranded on an island…with zombies outnumbering them.
“Paranoid people live longer.”
William….When he was stranded in the car, I thought of Cujo, but he has it worse. Will he survive? I really want him to…BUT…it’s up to Nick. Is there a way, Nick?
OMG…you are killing me Nick! From beginning to end, my heart was in my throat. BUT, when I reached the cliffhanger ending, it dropped to my gut and I think it will drive me crazy having to wait until Day 8.
So much happens in each terror filled Day, it feels like weeks, months, or even years have passed. People’s true nature rises to the surface, their humanity…or inhumanity…exposed.
