I love flamingos. They speak to me of the tropics.
Flamingo comes from the Spanish flamenco, “with the colour of flame”.
Their diet gives them their color and varies in shade by what they eat.
I think they are beautiful and comical at the same time.
My flock of flamingos looks a bit different than these, but I love them all the same.
Flamingos are the Bahamas national bird.

I love cardinals, but the flamingo is amazing! They are definitely a fascinating bird.
Such on odd bird. In Vegas we stayed at the Flamingo, which was where we stayed the very first time I went out there. They have some flamingos now and it was fun watching them. I felt bad about it too…but they didn’t seem to mind it. Cardinals are gorgeous and I love watching them in the yard. I don’t feed the birds because I have too many squirrels, but I do have a fresh supply of water in the birdbath and they seem to enjoy that.
I need some new ones, Sherry. That storm tore mine up. Keep an eye out for some for me, will ya?!
