Giveaway – The Blue Unicorn’s Journey to Osm by Sybrina Durant @Sybrina_spt @GoddessFish

I love the magical and elusive unicorn, so when I heard about The Blue Unicorn’s Journey to Osm, I had to ‘saddle up.’

The Blue Unicorn’s Journey To Osm by Sybrina Durant

GENRE: Teen Fantasy Book

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
MY REVIEW
There’s no place like home…OSM means awesome.
He is supposed to be their savior. But how can that be possible? He has no magic.
He feels an outsider, he just doesn’t fit in. Does anyone feel a touch of Rudolph in this?
The fun, colorful, imaginative illustrations are wonderful, filled with fantastical creatures, both good and bad.
Each creature is unique, individual, just like in real life.
Is there such a thing as a fish unicorn? If so, imagine the possibilities.
Set your imagination free.
The Blue Unicorn…reads like old time fairy tales…where life and death choices are made…And …maybe, you will learn why you never see a unicorn.
This magical fantasy filled with fun and humor, sadness and happiness, and lessons learned. We are not alone.
I voluntarily reviewed The Blue Unicorn’s Journey to Osm by Sybrina Durant.
BLURB
The book is about a little blue unicorn who was born into a magical metal-horned tribe of unicorns.  He is expected to save the tribe from the evil sorcerer, Magh but how will he be able to do that with no metal and no magic?  Read the book to find out how a plain blue unicorn comes of age with the help of a brave stag and a loyal firebird.  The book is meant for teen readers and anyone else who love unicorn stories with lots of pictures.
EXCERPT
“Why, would you take off alone, Ghel?” Alumna asked. “You know how dangerous it is out there.  You were almost a manticore’s dinner.”
It was obvious Alumna was angry.  She tried to control her voice but it came out in sharp, short tones.
 “Or worse,” Lauda exclaimed, “you might have been captured by Magh’s minions and had your hooves and horn taken.”  The hide on her back rippled fearfully.
Ghel shuddered, too.  She had thought she was doomed when she first saw the manticore.  She would have been if Nix had not arrived in the nick of time to save her.
All the other unicorns put on brave faces but the thought scared them, also.
The seriousness of their situation was fully revealed when Alumna said, “The entire tribe is going to have to make a journey all the way across MarBryn to Mumna said sadly.  “The Numen told me Blue’s destiny is to ensure the safety of our tribe. He said it is time for Blue to join with the Moon-Star.”
No one tried to hide the shock they felt.  They all spoke at once: “Join with the Moon-Star?”
“Corn feathers! Is he gonna sprout wings to do this trick?” Lauda exploded.    “The Moon-Star’s in the sky and Blue sure as heck can’t fly.”
They all thought it sounded like nonsense. Unicorns cannot fly.
One Sentence Review – Apparition Lake by Doug & Daniel D Lamoreux @dracsdemeter
Apparition Lake by Doug and Daniel Lamoreux has all the fixings for a horrific trip to Yellowstone National Park. You will not forget it!
What do you think of when you look at this fabulous cover by Creativia?
Apparition LakeAmazon  /  Goodreads
MY ONE SENTENCE REVIEW
If you are ready to be freaked out and getting lost in a story of mythical horror and mother nature’s revenge, you will need to look no further than Apparition Lake and its aura of menace and terror may lead you to jump at shadows and look closer…into the fog.
Animated Animals. Pictures, Images and Photos 4 Stars
GOODREADSS BLURB
Something is terribly wrong in the nation’s oldest national park.
Horrific deaths have occurred throughout Yellowstone and everyone believes that a monstrous grizzly bear is on a rampage. Scientific evidence suggests another terrifying conclusion. For Chief Ranger Glenn Merrill, putting an end to the mysterious deaths is more than just his job, it is a mission that will take him to the brink of death and shatter the foundation of his beliefs.
Apparition Lake plunges Glenn, his full-blooded Shoshone friend Johnny Two Ravens, and Jennifer Davies, an aggressive young biologist, into a world of Indian mysticism where mankind and nature struggle for control of Mother Earth. Apparition Lake races through its supernatural tale of an environment that has “had enough” and the Native American spirit it uses to mete out its revenge.
Giveaway & Review – The Ghost King by Jeff Altabef @JeffAltabef @novelpublicity
Welcome! Today I’m helping author Jeff Altabef launch his latest book, The Ghost King!
Who are Aalis, Wilkey & why are they going to war? Will there be more magic & mayhem in this second book? One of the best parts of this release is you can get both books for only 99c right now!
What else is so great about this release? This exclusive excerpt! There are 5 featured excerpts on this tour. One on the Novel Publicity page, one on Jeff Altabef’s Website, and 3 spread among the 20+ blogs that have helped Jeff with this release!
About the Book
An Ancient Prophecy foretold.
An Evil haunts the land.
A battle looms against overwhelming odds.
Led by a powerful witch, a wild invading army threatens to tear the Soulless lands apart. To survive, the three tribes must join together, but old grievances and hatred divide them. Only Wilky can unite them, but when he glimpses the future, he sees only a glimmer of hope; too much of the future remains veiled in darkness.
As the battle approaches, King Dermot orders his brother, Eamon, to stay behind at the Stronghold and defend against a possible siege. Eamon, who took an oath to fight the invaders, defies his brother, risks everything, and plunges into a desperate race with Aaliss and Wilky to unite the tribes.
Enemies from all sides conspire against them. Only together can they hope to succeed against the witch who will stop at nothing to destroy them. Yet even united, they will need magic to defeat this enemy at their door.
As the battle looms, only one chance at survival remains–the Ghost King–but who is he, and what will be the price of their redemption?
MY REVIEW
I am so happy to be back in Jeff Altabef’s magical world of danger, treachery and betrayal, greed and power, good and evil…
We start with Wilky, and what he sees in the future makes him more determined than ever to change it. He will not lose Aaliss, his sister.
In this complex world of different ‘tribes’, a war is on the horizon and the misfit group will have to learn to pool their resources and work together to defeat the evil coming at them.
OF COURSE, my favorite is Aaliss. I can’t imagine any hot blooded man not falling in love with this badass warrior.
The cutest one is Pryluck. Love this odd little man, but he is so innocent I can’t help but want to protect him, find him a home.
Jeff Altabef has built a fabulous magical fantasy world with characters that had me eating out of their hands gasping when they are attacked, melting with a gently loving touch, yet cheering when they deal evil a violent deadly blow.
I think The Ghost King can stand alone, but to get the most out of this wonderful story, I don’t know why you wouldn’t want to grab Red Death too.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of The Ghost King by Jeff Altabef.
It’s a year later and the zombie apocalypse is worse than ever. Will it never end? Do the zombies die out on their own, slowly disintegrating into dust?
Mike Beem is back and he’s shooting, stabbing, decapitating the broken and decomposing zombies to save Donnie and his family. He puts everything on the line to add more survivors to his ‘family’.
The star on top of Mike’s Christmas tree is like a beacon of hope to those lost, seeking shelter from the zombies.
It is Christmas Eve, and come hell or high water, there will be a Christmas.
Mike’s Angels, Double and Trouble, have his back.
Horror, suspense, love and hope abound in this gruesome yet heartwarming story in the brutal world of the zombie apocalypse.
The Bodyguards of LA County Hotties – Hailey’s Truth by Cate Beauman @CateBeauman
Hi fellow bloggers. I am so happy to share another romantic suspense novel by Cate Beauman, Hailey’s Truth.
Her books have such fabulous covers, I would grab them for that reason alone!
What do you think of this beauty?
Hailey's Truth (The Bodyguards Of L.A. County, #3)Amazon  /  Goodreads
MY REVIEW
 I’m excited to be back with the hotties from Ethan Security and the sexy vixens they can’t resist in Hailey’s Truth by Cate Beauman. Cate is able to grab me from the beginning to very end, so I am very wager to get started.
If this is what social workers are like, I fear for the children in the system. I fear for Hailey and her ‘brother’ Jeremy.
Hailey was a foster child, hugely independent, reliable, loyal, giving, loving, strong and proud. She had found her forever home, even a little brother, until..
It wasn’t bad enough they lost their ‘parents’ now they’re losing each other. I feel bad things coming and it makes me sad.
Jeremy…What can I say? Sometimes nothing makes a difference. A bad penny is a bad penny. Would it have been different if they had stayed together? We will never know. Pisses me off that lies flow from him like water from a faucet, but that just shows how great Cate Beauman’s writing is, so real I feel like it is happening to me.
It’s very interesting that two people, who had to work so hard just to survive, can turn out so different. Some people are givers, some takers and the takers can suck the life right out of you.
Such a sweet moment when Austin is teaching Hailey to swim, innocent and sensual.
Love this line:  “She was swimming with the next thing to a mythical sea god, and she sure as heck wasn’t a mermaid.” The water had always called to her, but that didn’t mean she was any good in it. I feel the same way. I love the water, like Hailey, so it helps me relate to her.
Drugs…Austin will be meeting the Mexican Mafia and I have a feeling Hailey will too. It’s a good thing Austin’s a badass because he’s gonna need to be. As the danger rises, so does Austin.
Hailey is committed to family, naive as to what’s right in front of her face. When or what constitutes crossing the line of trust? When do you just say no and set them free, to sink or swim on their own?
The Zulas, Mexican Mafia, are savages, brutal when betrayed. Not afraid of anything or anyone. To say they are dangerous is putting it mildly. Once in, only death gets you out. If a cop won’t work with them, not only with they callously take his life, but spread his body parts around to family and fellow officers.
I got all soft and gooey at the birthday party.
I love sexual tension between the characters as they get to know each other…the sensual glances and touches full of innuendo, from desire and denial, to push and pull, yes and no, keeping them on edge. Something as simple as washing dishes…he can look soooo sexy. I was laughing at the cake fiasco…until…Oh man, that’s so wrong.
“Mean are completely stupid..sometimes…most of the time.”
I do not like the word suckle when they are having sex. Makes me think of piglets. Numerous authors use it, but it’s just a little quirk of mine…don’t like it.
Additional touches with complex characters add the spice to the romance and suspense. The ladies console and talk things out. The men eat, step on their dicks and apologize profusely. Now that’s some hilarious and honest writing. LOL
Romantic suspense is pretty predictable, but it’s what the author twists and turns along the way that makes the story so interesting. I am most eager for the action and danger, and my emotions running hot. We have a good supply of all that, but I wanted more.
In Hailey’s Truth by Cate Beauman, I loved the story and the journey, but I didn’t quite get to shocked, and left gasping for breath. Never fear, we have more coming from Ethan Security and I will be looking for that in future books by Cate Beauman, because I have started and I will not stop…
I voluntarily reviewed a free copy of Hailey’s Truth by Cate Beauman.
Animated Animals. Pictures, Images and Photos 4 Stars
GOODREADS BLURB
Hailey Roberts has never had it easy. Despite the scars of a tragic childhood, she’s made a life for herself. As a part-time student and loving nanny, she yearns for a family of her own and reluctant Austin Casey, Ethan Cooke Security’s best close protection agent.
Hailey’s past comes back to haunt her when her long lost brother tracks her down, bringing his dangerous secrets with him. At an emotional crossroads, Hailey accepts a humanitarian opportunity that throws her together with Austin, taking her hundreds of miles from her troubles, or so she thinks.
What starts out as a dream come true quickly becomes a nightmare as violence erupts on the island of Cozumel. Young women are disappearing, community members are dying—and the carnage links back to her brother.
As Austin struggles to keep Hailey’s past from destroying her future, he’s forced to make a decision that could turn her against him, or worse cost them both their lives.
Christmas in July – Merry Chris Witch by C K Dawn @CloakedCKDawn
Welcome  to Christmas in July and Saturday Shorts.
Today I am welcoming C K Dawn and her FREE novella Merry Chris Witch.
I love this beautiful cover by Karri Klawiter
Merry Chris Witch
Amazon  /  Goodreads
MY REVIEW
How does the magical community spend Christmas? Well, they don’t scrub the floors. A simple wave of their had and the house is clean. I would love to be able to do that too.
BUT, Chris isn’t supposed to use magic. He’s a witch, so, like Harry Potter, he feels the need to test his abilities. He’s ahead of his class and easily bored. If he doesn’t quit getting in magical trouble, they’ll strip his powers and send him to human school.
He hates everything about Christmas, except his birthday, until….
He meets Nichole.
At first it’s fun and games, but when Nichole asks Chris for his help, he drops everything.
This sweet and innocent romance shares young puppy love, wonder and adventure, traveling the world through magic, flying through the air in Nichole’s Lamborghini.
What a sight to see.
In the magical realm, all things are possible, which is why I love to read about the paranormal and supernatural, and C K Dawn has done a wonderful creating a world of imagination and dreams that will entertain the young and old alike.
A Road Trip to Yuma Baby by Ellen Behrens #EllenBehrens
Yuma Baby by Ellen Behrens is my second road trip with Walt and Betty and I can hardly wait to get started.
Like a little mystery and danger with your travel adventures, look no further.
Yuma Baby (Rollin RV Mystery #2)
Amazon  /  Goodreads
MY REVIEW
I am so happy to be back on the road with Walt and Betty in Yuma Baby by Ellen Behrens.
I love her feisty, cynical personality. I find it very easy to relate to her. We have a lot in common. Often, I feel like I am walking in her footsteps.
Her husband, Walt, is the steadfast, logical one. He has a ton of patience and that’s a good thing, because her impulsive actions get her in one jam after another. He’s the cook, she does the cleanup, just like Mr Wonderful and I.
I feel the same as she does about felons. They just need to shut up and quit their whining. I mean, they have room and board, insurance…Sometimes it seems like they have more rights than their victim and there is something seriously wrong with that.
On the way into Yuma, their fear for a child’s safety leads them on a wild chase. What about the girl? Who is she? Where is she?
I love her inquisitive nature, but it takes her further than I would go. She gets involved. She feels the need to fix things and it all too often lands her in hot water. Anyone in need who gets involved with her is a lucky person.
Her investigation is murky, keeping the mystery going and the perpetrator hiding in the shadows.
Perfect season for this fun loving couples adventures as they go Rollin, Rollin, Rollin down the…road.
Written in a realistic and easy reading style, with a light tone full of smiles and chills aplenty.
I voluntarily reviewed a free copy of Yuma Baby by Ellen Behrens.
Christmas in July – The Time Traveler’s Christmas by Amy Jarecki @amyjarecki
The Time Traveler’s Christmas by Amy Jarecki was a wonderful surprise for me.
I won the book and read until the wee hours of the morning to find out how it would end.
I look forward to reading more of the Guardian of Scotland stand alone series.
Amazon  /  Goodreads
MY REVIEW
The Time Traveler’s Christmas by Amy Jarecki was a wonderful surprise. I loved this historical fiction novel and stayed up to the week hours of the morning to finish it.
Lachlan had not only lost one of the biggest karate tournaments of his life, but also his cheating wife. Now…he’s hiding out at his uncles.
His uncle had left him a Christmas gift, a medallion. He put it on, went to sleep, and…
I was immersed in Lachlan’s story early in the book  and he never let me go. He is a sexy warrior that believes in doing the right thing, at all costs.
The surprises and action came early and the character’s came to life through Amy Jarecki’s words.
I was curious where she would take the story. Is it possible to straddle both worlds, moving back and forth between them? Would the medallion choose for him? Or would he have to choose?
Lachlan thought he knew and had one year . Come next Christmas, it would be time to go home. But he had this Christmas.
Of course, we have romance and, even though the sexual tension between Lachlan and Christine is almost instantaneous, their relationship develops slowly.
I was invested in their lives from the opening pages. They are strong characters that grow and develop over the pages.
I was surprised how much I loved The Time Traveler’s Christmas. Not about the time travel itself, because I love to read the genre, but because of the time and dialogue. Lachlan had been transported from the twenty first century to medieval times, and to Scotland to boot. I thought it might be tough reading, but I worried for nothing.
There was so much more to the story than I anticipated.
Sprinkled with truths of history, the Guardian of Scotland stand alone series is one I want to continue.
GOODREADS BLURB
A man’s life can fall apart in an instant…
Tougher than oxhide, Lachlan Wallace can take about anything except a breakup call from his wife two minutes before competing in the Karate Championship of the World. Arriving home with a loss, he agrees to watch his uncle’s cat over the holidays. Or so he thinks—until he awakes on a fourteenth century battlefield beside a woman fighting for her life.
Never underestimate a woman’s determination…
Taken from her at the age of two, Lady Christina de Moray hasn’t seen her son in thirteen years. While traveling with Robert the Bruce’s army to exchange an English prisoner for the lad, a battle erupts. Losing the fight, Christina is rescued by a mysterious warrior while the English escape with her son yet again.
And never bet against the potency of passion…
Left with no way back to the twenty-first century, Lachlan agrees to help Christina rescue the lad from his English captors. If the heir is not returned by Christmas next, the Bruce will make his decision whom to grant the de Moray lands, including Lady Christina’s hand. Once his duty is fulfilled, Lachlan hopes to discover a way home—as long as he keeps his mind on the goal and ignores his growing love for the spirited woman who gives him her trust—and her heart.
