I love the cover of this book and think it is excellent. The colors and subject jumped off the page. The title is great, too. Both are very descriptive of the story to be told.
Because of the subject matter and the way Emma dealt with it, I felt this book deserved a high rating. A perfect way to handle such a sensitive topic.
A short story. Fast read. Once I “turned the first page”, I couldn’t put it down. Raced through it. I thought it might be too dark and depressing, but Emma’s approach to the subject of depression and suicide was both tragic and uplifting. We always have choices.
Cassie, the main character, seems both tragic and wimpy, weak. But it took her three times to go for it, so she still had her doubts. I wonder how many people went through with it and realized too late they didn’t want to die. Others, you know they mean it. I know a girl who hung herself in her bedroom closet. Very obvious she wanted to die. All she had to do was stand up to stop it. How utterly bereft must someone be? So alone, with no hope.
A morbid subject, but one more talked about today than ever. Depression is actually treated, without a person becoming a pariah.
I liked the other characters, except for gross Syd. It wouldn’t be right if they were all easily likeable. We need a bad guy. Got to have someone to hate or dislike.
“Leap of faith.” Isn’t life just that?

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Before I wrote, I read. Voraciously. When I wasn’t able to read, I listened to audio books on tape or CD. Still do. Hi. My name is Robynn E Sheahan and I live and write from the Cascade Mountains of the Pacific Northwest.
I started to dabble in writing while working as a Paramedic/Firefighter in Northern California. Trust me, it’s not like it appears on TV. There was plenty of time for books. Ideas from dreams follow me into warm sunny days or the quiet of falling snow. What ifs feed a vivid imagination. Even miss-typed phrases may lead to an aha moment. Brain storming sessions standing in windy, dark parking lots with fellow writers release thoughts that pry at the corners of my mind, grasping for purchase. Sometimes the ideas pursue me, with persistence. About three years ago the dabbling became serious when worlds and characters screamed for, no, demanded attention. So I wrote my first manuscript. Critiques and rewrites filled the next two years. I now had STORM OF ARRANON, the first book in the series.

Review of The Middle Aisle
Dean adds some great storytelling to mix, turning the concept of an unreliable narrator so completely on its head that the reader is never quite sure what is real, what isn’t, and how it will all end.
(…) But I’ll never admit That he’s here. Never again. I need him. I want him. I do not care if he’s not real. I wish I’d never known the truth. The truth sucks. Delusions are fantastic. The world would be a happier place if everyone was allowed to Live Out Their fantasies, live in a dream world where everything is butterflies and roses. (…)
Lancaster House & The Middle Aisle, available in print or eCopy from Smashwords or Amazon:
Taylor Dean lives in Texas and is the mother of four grown children. Upon finding herself with an empty nest, she began to write the stories that were always wandering around in her head, quickly finding that she had a passion for writing, specifically romance. Whether it’s paranormal, contemporary, or suspense-you’ll find all sub-genres of romance in her line-up.

Daniel could smell the camper’s dinner cooking over the fire and thought, that smells good. But it wasn’t their food he was thinking about.
In the morning, he went to the diner for his normal breakfast, a steak as warm as possible, while still being rare. Sara, his girlfriend, came in and commented on the article in the newspaper. Three campers had been killed in a bear attack.
Daniel functioned as a normal human would, other than occasional forays into the woods for deer, or other game, and the occasional human.
Twice Daniel had smelled a familiar scent, but tonight he followed it to its source. He saw the werewolf feeding off a body. He couldn’t allow it. He liked living here, in Boone, North Carolina. He had always been careful about not feeding on the townspeople. This would ruin it for him.
Daniel had thought of his past. He had an affair with his Master’s wife. His Master, Makareus, had killed her and vowed never to stop hunting Daniel, until he was dead.
Sara was attacked and shot, while walking home from work one night. Daniel knew of only one way to save her. They would have to leave Boone, and quickly. Makareus was on their trail and would stop at nothing to get his revenge.
Daniels life in Boone would be coming to an end, or worse.
3 STARS – Would Recommend To Others
WARNING: 18+ Language. Sexual content. Savagery. Blood and guts galore.
The cover is beautiful. The colors and simplicity made me stop and look deeper. The title is so very appropriate.
A vicious lycanthrope story of love and revenge.
I had a hard time writing this review, because I have never read a book so filled with savagery and cruelty. The goriest werewolf story I ever read. I find it hard to put into words the carnage contained in the book. It revved up a couple notches when Makareus turned his army loose in Boone, driving them to seek his revenge.
Daniel only knew one way to save Sara. He had never felt love for a woman before and knew he couldn’t live without her. Wasn’t this selfish on his part? What about what she would want? By saving her, he put her life at risk. I was surprised that I fell for Daniel. He was a werewolf, but he had a code he lived by. Is he a good guy or a bad guy? You will have to decide for yourself.
Makareus had only loved one woman. He blamed Daniel for having an affair with his wife and forcing him to kill her. He would seek his revenge on Daniel and anyone with him.
This is a trilogy and I would continue to read the future books, because I want to know what happens to Daniel and Sara. Do they get to have a “normal” life?
I received this book in return for an honest and unbiased review.

I posted this during a tour a while back, but since then, a book trailer has come out. I also, forgot to add it to my reviews on Amazon and Goodreads. So, take a look, check out the book and if you like, pick up a copy for yourself at the end of the post.
From George D. Shuman who served twenty years with the Metropolitan Police Department, Washington DC, and whose international bestseller, ’18 Seconds’, is currently in production as a major Hollywood motion picture.
Better still, ‘Rattleman’ is George D. Shuman’s most gripping crime thriller yet.
The Rattleman knows every crevice, every creek, every cave, every ravine, every inch of his remote hunting grounds in the Appalachian Mountains.
He is a determined serial killer, always waiting for his next victim to cross his path.
When Park Ranger Jane Cameron literally stumbles across the remains of two of his victims, she discovers that she too has been caught in his trap.
And when the ‘Rattleman’s prey is at his mercy, she’s dead.
MY REVIEW OF RATTLEMAN BY GEORGE SHUMAN
Kirsten, a state police corporal and senior forensic technician, arrived to examine the woman’s head. It was all that was found on the edge of the icy river. It looked like it had been cut clean, but it could have been the ice that cut it. It was sent off to the lab to find out more.
As Marty sat at the General Store, talking with Hattie, he recalled another woman had disappeared not that far from here. He put in a request for the report. When it arrived, he found, she too, had five ear hole piercings. Were there more similarities?
Jane Cameron knew she wasn’t supposed to go off on her own, but it was too late to seek help and make it back by tonight. The girl was missing and a night could make a difference. What she found in the cave, made her realize she could be next. The next sound she hears tells her it is already too late.
One of their own was down and Marty would stop at nothing to find the killer.
Over a 15 year period, on Blood Mountain and the Appalachian Trail, too many women were coming up missing. It now involved Georgia, West Virginia, Kentucky and Tennessee. What was happening to them? Was there a serial killer loose? The newspapers thought so and the Atlanta Constitution named him the Mountain State Butcher.
DEA agent Judy Wells had been given her first real case since coming back to work, after loosing her baby to SIDs and her husband walking out on her. She was meeting an informant in the Latora Crime family. It was one of the biggest cases in the city and she was anxious about her part in the investigation.
Judy had come back from a living hell, but was still having trouble. When she failed her qualification at the piston range, she had real cause for worry. The next time she was scheduled to qualify, she pretended to have the flu, but she could only put it off for so long. If she couldn’t shoot, she would lose her job, and her job was all she had left.
Jimmy Latora, Sr had died and his son had taken over, but he had no respect from the ranks. The informant was a Lieutenant in the Latora crime family. Carlisle, Jimmy’s son, had pissed him off, so he turned rat.
When the plane that was carrying the contraband crashed, Judy was sent to check it out.
Would it end up being the best thing that ever happened to her, or would it be her final downfall?
4 STARS – Would Highly Recommend To Others
“God thinks I’m a cat. He likes to dangle things in front of me and then snatch them out of my reach.” I just had to put that in my review, because it made me bust out laughing when I read it.
The cover is awesome and creates an aura of mystery. The title, Rattleman, is very appropriate, and you will find out why when you read the book.
I love murder mysteries and find serial killers especially fascinating.
It is suspenseful and very well written, but something kept me from rating it higher. It lacked the WOW factor for me. It could have been longer and developed more of the story, gone deeper into details. I still loved the book and am happy to have it in my Kindle collection.
Marty seemed like a great guy, but living in the sticks is not for everyone. His fiance left him for someone else and moved to the big city. He liked his job and did it well.
Judy Wells was a tragic figure. If something in her life could go wrong, it would. Her husband had left her for someone else, shortly after their baby died from SIDS. She just couldn’t seem to get over it. When it affected her job, it put her life as a police woman in jeopardy. She would lose her job if she couldn’t pass her shooting qualifications.
The Rattleman was a psychotic killer that had no remorse and no intention of stopping. His victims were chosen because of them being in the wrong place, at the wrong time. He could travel freely, because no one missed him when he wasn’t there and he knew the woods like the back of his hand. There was only one way to stop him, and that was by catching or killing him.
I enjoyed the book, and would definitely pick up another one written by George D. Shuman.
I received this book in return for an honest and unbiased review.

I love that the story starts out with Alex up a tree.
Her hand begins to itch, the urge to draw overwhelms her. She was hiding from the two men, but she heard a sound that made her look. She saw only one man on the dock and felt the urge to run, trying to keep out of sight. She didn’t know, but Jelly, the chauffeur, had seen her.
As soon as she got home, she sat down and began to draw, her hand moving on its own. It seemed it only happened when violence was near.
Alex was living on the island with her Aunt Chicora , because a tree had fallen on her house during a storm.
She ran into Connor, the prosecutor, at the restaurant. He convinced her to join him for dinner. Rollins had followed her there, with Jelly. Rollins was the man she had seen alone on the dock. His plan was to take care of her now.
She had no idea how much dinner with Connor would change her life forever.

“An enigma wrapped in a riddle”
I loved the cover. The colors and photograph captured my eye. I must confess, I do choose a lot of the books I read by the cover first. The title is appropriate and catchy .
I have a special fondness for trees. I am amazed at the number of books I choose that have a tree on the cover in some way, shape or form.
I fell into the book and couldn’t climb out until the last page was read. I really thought that was how it would be, before I even opened the cover. It has all the elements for a good book. A woman in distress, yet she is strong, loving, and forgiving. She has friends around her. The bad guys are after her. And she finds a man and his dog to ride off into the sunset with. Throw in some psychic abilities, numerous plot lines and characters, and you have a hit.
I read it in one sitting and it was every bit as entertaining as I thought it would be. The book was well written and Ellis kept the action rolling from cover to cover. I am eager to read more exciting stories from this wonderful author.
I won this book in a giveaway on fuyonlyknew’s blog. I love to add signed, first editions to my book collection. Thank you Laura, at fuyonlyknew, and Ellis for having the giveaway.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
As a child in the South, Ellis spent long, hot days imagining herself an Indian or pioneer or musketeer. At night she (and her whole family) read. From Tarzan and D’Artagnan to Anne Shirley and Nancy Drew, she lived them all. No angst in her childhood. So what did she do as an adult? Write fiction, what else? She loves creating characters and making them do what she wants, but mostly they take off on their own and leave her hurrying to catch up.
All her stories have some degree of romance and a lot of suspense. Time of Death, a suspense novel about a psychic artist who sees too much, was released in November. And before that, Cold Comfort, her new romantic suspense. Her first book, published by Silver Dagger Mysteries, was Haunting Refrain. The second was The Peeper, a suspense novel co-authored with retired LEO Jim Christopher. (He’s a terrific storyteller!)
Ellis is an author, editor, and speaker. She grew up in North Alabama, studied English and art at All Saints College for Women, and thoroughly enjoyed studying creative writing under the great Scott Regan. She taught elements of fiction at a community college. Her home is now the South Carolina Piedmont with her husband and dogs. Click here to contact Ellis.
Ellis is currently working on a new book that’s set in North Carolina, tentatively titled Fade Out. She hopes to finish it this summer. It is more like Cold Comfort. Nothing psychic in this one.
