Susan Fleet   Music & Mayhem is my game. Started my trumpet career in my teens, got into the mayhem later. My print journalist father taught me how to play pool in the police station. Maybe that’s how I discovered my dark side.

BLURB

A princess with no recollection of the past eight years. War on the horizon. Who to trust? Who to save?

Sixteen-year-old Janir Caersynn Argetallam wakes, sore and disoriented in the home city of her people, surrounded by relatives who seem concerned for her well-being. As she tries to recover, the Argetallams’ allies, the Stlavish, prepare to unleash a magical relic of untold power against the Argetallams’ age-old enemies, the Brevians. Janir watches silently from the sidelines until she meets a warrior elf and a strange wizard-boy who claim to know her and make her feel…confused. They claim that everything she’s been told is a lie, that her memories were stolen at the command of her father, the Lord Argetallam. As the eve of Brevia’s destruction draws closer, Janir finds herself with the power to stop the Stlavish. Conflicted and confused, she must decide whether she will allow Brevia to be conquered or if she will betray her father and destroy the relic—the Chalice of Malvron…

Animated Animals. Pictures, Images and Photos   3 – Would Recommend To Others

I love the cover. It is bright and colorful, intriguing, luring me into the pages. Covers are very important to me in choosing books.

The story is well written. A quick and easy read. Perfect for a scare at the beach or around the pool. Go ahead. Close your eyes and visualize HIM, The Dastardly Bastard.

A fork in the road. Which way do you want to turn? How do you handle it? Does the good outweigh the bad? To have good memories, we have to learn to live with the bad.

What would you do to change your memories? Your actions of the past? Those haunting what ifs, if onlies?

As you can tell, this book made me think of decisions. Sometimes I thought more of myself than I did the characters in the book. Is this good or bad? What do you think?

I like when a book takes me somewhere and even more so, when I don’t know where I will end up. As for Justine? You will have to read the book for yourself to find out if the choices she makes will help them to survive.

I won this signed, first edition paperback during the Hope For the Wicked giveaway from redadeptpublishing. Thanks so much to Edward Lorn and redadeptpublishing.

I look forward to reading more from Edward Lorn.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Edward LornEdward Lorn is an American horror author presently residing in the southeast United States. He enjoys storytelling, reading, and writing biographies in the third person.

Once upon a time, during a session of show and tell, a seven-year-old Edward Lorn shared with his class that his baby brother had died over the weekend. His classmates, the teacher included, wept while he recounted the painful tragedy of having lost a sibling. Edward went home that day and found an irate mother waiting for him. Edward’s teacher had called to express her condolences. This was unfortunate, as Edward had never had a baby brother.

With advice given to her by a frustrated teacher, Edward’s mother made him start writing all of his lies down. The rest, as they say, is history.

Edward Lorn and his wife are raising two children, along with a handful of outside cats and a beagle named Dot. He remains a liar to this day. The only difference is, now he’s a useful one.

Kelly P’s BlogAnnouncing the new release next spring!

2 –  The Writer’s Window – “Agape” Fan Art!

This epic tale unfolds before our eyes an impossible love story. (Original fan art!)

3 – The Other World

I loved learning that Anne Elisabeth was a pet person, and reading about her cats and dog on Minerva Louise’s blog (www.minervawritesherthoughts.blogspot.com) always brings a smile to my face.

4 – Mel’sShelves

I’ve heard good things about this series and wanted to read it so what better way than to jump in on book 5? I see why people rave about these books

5 – JL Mbewe

I loved how the story kept us guessing as who was the “bad guy”. I love being able to gather the clues and make guesses about the plot or characters, whether I’m right or proven wrong in the end. And even better when it has such a beautiful ending to wrap it all up nicely. It is a book to be read again and again

8 – GettingYour Read On

Each character seemed to have a journey both of self discovery and of knowledge.

The heroes of this story are weak, pathetic, pitiful characters. They aren’t the strong powerful champions. But it is in their weakness, their knowing that they can not do this on their own, that the strength comes.

10 – Jojo’sCorner

…as mesmerizing as it is mysterious.

11 – LDS& Lovin’ It

Just when I think I know where the story is going, she throws in the unexpected and yet it all manages to make sense.

“I think part of the love I feel for Dragonwitch is due to the struggle this novel was to write. This was the hardest novel I have ever produced…”

14 – Mommasez…

I would give this series ten out of five stars, lol, because of the creativity, tight plot, action, action, action, and amazing characters.

15 – Dee’sReads

The “evil” characters weren’t truly evil, they were just responding to heartbreak and disappointment. The imagery was amazing.

16 – That Girl Reads

If Dragonwitch was turned into a movie what actors would you like to see play the main characters?

1.) 2.)
3.) 4.)
5.) 6.)

17 – Living a Goddess Life

I would recommend Dragonwitch to anyone who has read any of her other novels, fans of medieval-esque fantasy, fans of the ‘good’ vs ‘evil’ grey areas, and those who enjoy cats. Because, truly, Eanrin is FABULOUS.

New Release – Still Life by Michael Montoure

I am very happy to bring to your attention Michael Montoure’s new release Still Life. As you will see from his selection of books at the end of this post, he is a prolific writer. His covers are eye catching and I felt compelled to include most of them. Take a minute to check them out and his stories are……well, if you like creepy, read on.

With the suicide of her best friend, burned-out rock star Nikki Velvet came face-to-face with death, and she’d do anything not to face it again. When a mysterious stranger offers her immortality, she believes she’s found what she’s been searching for, but it’s nothing like she’s imagined ….

Sylvan, the beautiful stranger who’d promised to make her a vampire, turned out to be all too human. He keeps his promise — but only to leave her weak, helpless, and addicted to his blood.

Now, trapped in her new life with him — and with Paul, the vampire she’s replaced as Sylvan’s favorite — Nikki struggles to rise above Sylvan’s control and Paul’s jealousy, and to find a way out with the help from the ghosts of her past.

But it might not be so simple. When Sylvan risks the retribution of the enigmatic Shadow Market, Nikki has to find her own fate, before time runs out for all of them ….

STILL LIFE is a story of loss, isolation, the things we mistake for love, and the way back out of the dark.

Tequila felt her eyes bulge out of their sockets. She was too terrified to breathe, too stunned to think. And still, the beast walked nearer. He sneered, and then lifted up the scalpel until it was level with his chin.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Image of Ella MedlerElla Medler is a U.K. author and free-lance editor. She writes fiction in more than one genre in a seemingly vain attempt to slow down her overactive brain enough to write non-fiction on subjects she knows a thing or two about. She also does not believe in the starchy use of English and ignores the type of rule that doesn’t allow for a sentence to be finished in a preposition. Her books – whatever genre they may be – are action-driven. Well-developed, multi-layered characters are her forte.
Loves: freedom.
Hates: her inner censor.

Books:

MARTIN LITTLE, RESURRECTED – a lighthearted fantasy novel full of action and unique takes on life. It’s total escapism.

BLOOD IS HEAVIER – book one in the Hunter Series, an action thriller. An explosive and emotional struggle to save a father’s most treasured possession.

BLOOD IS POWER – book two in the Hunter Series. The action continues on international level and across multiple timezones. Darker, grittier than the first, and posing questions we’d rather not answer.

ETERNAL ISLAND – book one in the Eternal Series, a paranormal romance featuring an original take on vampires and witches, almost a spoof. Funny and entertaining. Collaboration with K.S. Haigwood

ETERNAL IMMORTALITY – book two in the Eternal Series. The adventures continue. Abe and Ariana have more than themselves to save this time.

Future releases:

BLOOD IS THE END (working title)-(book three and last in the Hunter Series)

Last FREE DAY for BLOOD IS HEAVIER by Ella Medler plus Review

Today is the last free day for Blood is Heavier. To see why you want this book, read on! And, guess what. No wait for Book II, Blood is Power. It releases tomorrow. So, be sure and come back to fundinmental to find out what Nick and Tequila are up to next.

 Add Shudder to Goodreads

Nick was always in a hurry to get home and it was all because of Maxi. She had made his life a good one. He had never believed marriage, a child and a normal life could be so wonderful.

Then his past came back to haunt him.

Maxi called to tell him that J. B. was keeping her company until Nick got home.

Nick was a retired assassin and they wanted him to do a job for them.

The message they sent ripped his heart from his chest, crushed him.

They didn’t seem to be afraid of him, but they should have been.

Animated Animals. Pictures, Images and Photos   5 STARS – Would Buy It For Them (lol)

I love the covers of the Hunter Series books. They are vibrant and alive. I immediately want to pick them up and read them.

My favorite genre is murders, mysteries and thrillers – Ella Medler does not let me down. I kicked back in my lounger and let her take me away with Nick. Riveting from the very beginning.

The writing was FUN. I loved the humorous, sarcastic, snappy dialogue.

I loved Spyder Tequila. She was flippant, confident and had a sassy attitude. The banter between her and Nick was wonderful. They were comfortable around each other and there was no doubt of their trust. But, can you ever really trust someone, 100%, anyone? What do you think? I want to see more of her please. ^_^

When Tequila and Nick were talking about the girl hanging back from the others and why she was so sad (people watching), it made me think of my girlfriend. We would do the same thing – try to figure out the persons job, were they married, what kind of car did they drive………

I could picture Tequila, leaning back against the counter with her ankles crossed and a wicked grin on her face as she goads Nick. It made me laugh out loud. I felt like I was there, watching them banter back and forth goodnaturedly. I could relate to her easily.

The ending was awesome. I smiled again. But you will have to read the book to find out why.

I am looking forward to Book II of The Hunter Series, which is due out tomorrow, so stay tuned to fundinmental to get your peek at another great Hunter book. Check out the cover below.

Favorite Quotes:

“As soon as one got close to people one became responsible.”

“Heavy burden, trust. Don’t you think? ”         “Blood Is Heavier.”

“Careful, Daddy…..you’re going to squeeze all the love out of me.”

How sweet. I could picture it. I couldn’t help but smile with tears in my eyes.

I can’t remember how I received this book, but I believe it was a free Amazon day. Thank you Ella Medler for sharing the love.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Ella Medler

Ella Medler

I live in Cornwall with my husband and our two teenage daughters who regularly threaten to never leave home (must be my cooking).

Together, we care for a large assortment of pets, some small enough to fit in a fish tank, and some capable of causing you significant injury on impact.

I was born in Transylvania but got chucked out due to my inability to grow fangs and reluctance to sleep in coffins. I studied economics to masters level, and qualified with 93.5% (damn good, considering I really wasn’t interested). I wanted to be an archaeologist, travel the world, scrape around in mud and live in squalor. Unfortunately, my mother won that argument, and so, after refusing a teaching post (I never did like school), I started work in business development consultancy roles, where I met my husband, the lucky so and so.

The rest is history. If you’re reading this, you already know the end of the story.

The third is a guy who really knows how to turn up the August heat, not to mention Jess’s heart rate…when he’s not resurrecting the dead. The study soon turns into something far more sinister when they discover that Siler House and the dark forces within are determined to keep them forever. Hauntinghouse2AUTHOR INTERVIEW
.

I love finding out about authors, so I chose to give you the chance to get to know Michell Muto a little better. See the interview below and be sure to say hi to Michelle.

Welcome Michelle. I would like to introduce you to my readers.

How did you come up with the idea for your book?

During a trip to Savannah, I visited the Sorrel-Weed house, which is reported to be Savannah’s most haunted house.

What is different about this book compared to others you’ve written?

For starters, The Haunting Season is New Adult. Secondly, the main characters are not supernatural beings.

Most unique or unusual research you’ve ever done for The Haunting Season?Hauntinghouse1

Besides visiting the Sorrel-Weed house? Asking a former mortician about embalming methods in the early to mid 1900’s and how embalming and burial procedures have changed and why. It’s both fascinating and a bit gruesome.

What is the hardest part about writing?

Keeping my butt in the chair for as many hours as I need to per day. Resisting the urge to jump on the internet when I’m having difficulty with a scene.

If you could meet any author who is no longer living, who would it be?

Tough call. Edgar Allan Poe, probably. But I’d also like to meet Rod Serling and Alfred Hitchcock.

Hauntinghouse3Can you tell us a little about your next project?

It’s a adult dark fantasy novel with action, castles, and gargoyles.  It’ll be out early this summer.

If you could do one thing over again in regards to writing, what would it be?

Write faster.

Vanilla or chocolate?

Chocolate.

Food you like the most? The least?

I tend to like Italian food the most. I can’t stand brussel sprouts or peas.

Favorite television show?Hauntinghouse4

Supernatural

What weapon would you choose in the zombie apocalypse?

Harry Potter’s wand or maybe Dean Winchester. He’d be a formidable weapon against zombies, right? <grin>

 What scares you?

Humanity. The way people treat others, animals, or the environment.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

HauntingauthorMichelle has always loved storytelling. When she was a child, her favorite stories were of monsters and things that lurked in the dark. Telling stories often frightened her classmates and got her into a lot of trouble with her teachers. They had no sense of humor.

As an adult, Michelle traded her love of writing for the corporate life where she was an IT professional. Today, she’s doing what she loves best – writing and storytelling.

Michelle grew up in Chicago, but currently lives in NE Georgia with her husband and their two dogs. She loves scary books, funny movies, sports cars, chocolate, dogs, and changes of season.

Be sure and take a gander at the Found book trailer at the end of the post. Carlie tells her story of how Heartsearch came to be.

My Review of Heartsearch: Lost, Book I. I will have to apologize before hand for getting so carried away and rambling on in my review about this book. If you love Vampires and haven’t read these, you will not regret picking up a copy today. I want to tell you, so much, how this book ends, but then………………

SYNOPSIS

He had waited so long for THIS human.

Joshua had visited South Weald Country Park many times. He had no idea that this time would be life changing.

As I thought of becoming Mrs. Joshua Grant, I couldn’t help but smile. Joshua met me at the airport. His kiss was very passionate. We made love that night and I awoke to find bruises all over my body. I guess he really did miss me. I managed to keep it from him, but when we made love again, I awoke in the morning feeling even more pain. It wasn’t just bruises this time. There were long, raw scratches down my arms and thighs. Before I could cover up, he came in the room. He saw what he had done and fell to his knees, crying. He ran from the house.

After Remy left for work, Joshua returned to the house. He saw the wedding lists on the table. He grabbed a pen and pad and wrote, “Dear Remy………….”

MY REVIEW

I had heard a lot about this book from my sister at fuonlyknew. She fell in love with it. Myself, I thought, oh another vampire book. I take my Vampires in small doses. Thrillers and mysteries are my favorites, with the paranormal and horror next in line. Was I in for a huge surprise. I have read thousands of books, so to surprise me is huge kudos to the author.

I was immediately drawn in and the story never let me go. It is so well written that the pages passed quickly beneath my eyes. I was in a hurry to find out how this would go.

The story is told from two different points of view, Remy’s and Joshua’s. Carlie did really well blending them together so I didn’t loose track of what was happening going back and forth.

Remy’s love was so strong that she couldn’t let him go. She went in “Search” of him. As Remy starts to dream, my hand reaches to turn the page. Oops, no page, it’s my Kindle. How would you “Search” ? Where to begin once the obvious is done? I guess that is why a show like America’s Most Wanted is such a hit. John Walsh, the host, is a prime example of how far some people will go to get an answer.

At first I really didn’t like how callous the vampires were, then I thought, that’s how they are supposed to be. Cold, self-centered, unfeeling. Carlie’s vampires seemed more realistic. Realistic? LOL. Before I knew it, I was laughing at myself. Is there such a thing as a nice vampire? I think I fell for Joshua. How could that be? Can a Vampire be a good guy?

Remy had been bubbly, outgoing, an extrovert, the life of the party type. As Carlie talks about the pain of her loss, I could feel her determination to find him.

When Remy was people watching, I smiled. I remember my girlfriend, who is no longer with us. We used to sit and watch people, trying to figure out who they were, what they did for a living, what car they drove…..I still love to people watch, but it just isn’t the same. I love a book that gets my mind working and I get more from the book than just the author’s story. Thanks Carlie for stretching my mind.

I FREAKED OUT at the ending. Caught me totally off guard. A huge surprise. I thought it was going to be one thing and it was another. I laughed out loud because I never saw it coming.

Carlie is awesome at throwing you a curve ball, so don’t think you know what is going to happen before it does. You are sure to be shocked and amazed. Her ability to tell a story about vampires that is so unique is mind blowing. I have never read a vampire book like this and I loved where she took it. I cannot even guess where she will take me next. I am so glad I have Book II so I don’t have to wait.

Karma can be a beautiful maiden or a bitch… Lemurians… Atlanteans… Hidden origins of Humanity…
Before recorded history, before Humanity, since times immemorial, the Earth Keepers have been watching over our planet. Marked at birth and endowed with supreme powers, the nine chosen ones are the Earth’s record keepers and moderators, and when the time comes, the ultimate decision makers. This is the first of their chronicles.
..
Legend of the Lemurians
The population of the red planet Catharsis, on the outskirts of the Andromeda Galaxy, is exceedingly beautiful. But Catharsians harbor a terrible secret: they have to share the planet with another race, which they call the Uglies, although the Uglies themselves prefer to be called Lemurians. Alas, no one on Catharsis cares what the Uglies prefer. Being ugly is considered a contagious disease, and the Uglies are herded into a special reservation called Camp Ugly, where they live out their drudgery behind an electric fence. But the Uglies don’t seem to fret as they raise their young, guard the planet’s Crystalline Engine, and sing their heart-stopping songs to the Goddess of All, Mother Mu. And so, both races co-exist without much interaction, until the ultimate disaster strikes.
.
Morf is a seventeen-year-old Ugly who finds himself in the middle of it all. He is thrust fatefully into the leadership position when no one else can fill its shoes.
.
Will the catastrophe bring to light everyone’s true beauty and true ugliness?
Will planet Catharsis survive?
What destiny lies in store for the Uglies?
We are about to find out…
..
This is book 1 of the Earth Keepers Chronicles, a new series of metaphysical fantasy/scifi novelettes. It is companion & prequel to THE EARTH SHIFTER, a top-rated visionary fantasy/thriller.
