The boy-shaped demon nodded.

The Prince nodded, eyes still dull and hungry. Adramelech knew his Fire would not speak unless he himself requested it.
“Do you have any questions?”
The demon shook his head.
“Then let us begin.” Adramelech willed the power within every molecule of his own form to flow to the surface, watching his creation’s eyes glow in anticipation. Indeed, the only time his heir came to life was when a large feeding was expected. The boy-shaped demon opened its mouth as Adramelech began to speak. “I, Adramelech, Son of Lucifer, offer a portion of my power unto you.”
“I, Fire, Son of Adramelech…” the Prince began.
“You must include the ridiculous human title Paimon bestowed unto you,” Adramelech corrected. “It is your written name and therefore necessary for the ritual.”
“I, Aidan Fire, Son of Adramelech, accept the power and take it unto my form to hold, so that Adramelech, King of Fire, may wield both it and I as he sees fit.”
Adramelech focused his power into a beam of energy and shot it toward his creation. Even as the Prince’s power swelled and his eyes turned the golden hue of Dragonfire, he accepted the gift hungrily. Adramelech considered all that he had wrought and was pleased.

Tracy Auerbach is an author of science fiction and fantasy for teens and adults. As an avid reader with a vivid imagination, she chose to study film, English, and education, and went on to teach and write STEM curriculum for the New York Department of Education. This helped to polish her writing skills and ignite her passion for science fiction and fantasy.
Her first scholarly article, published in Language Magazine, was about the value of active, creative learning in science.
On the fiction side, Tracy’s work has been featured in the online literary journal Micro-horror, The Writing Disorder fiction anthology, and the “(Dis)ability” short story anthology, in addition to her novels.

It all starts with Achmael. His life was with his goats. He is lucky to be alive. Usually anyone handicapped is put to death because of their harsh life in Ghat, a remote and isolated village. He is club footed.
The soldiers had been told to dump the bodies in a pit, but did a lousy job of it, which was good for the survivors, which Achmael found.
The British were not going to let their torture go unpunished. Rory would be leading the team to get their revenge. But, it won’t be easy.
The training they go through is brutal, yet amazing. Pain suppression. It is highly secret, even to MI5 and MI6.
The Sultan is not one to be crossed and believe torture is the order of the day.
They make their first move and through they have blended in with their environment, I feel something terrible is coming their way. Will the Sultan catch onto their plan? Would he set a trap for them? If so, will they survive? Can they accomplish their mission and get out…alive?
If you read George Lockie’s biography, you will see he has military experience to draw on, making his characters, and the world they live in, come to life. The bond formed is one of respect and loyalty, working as a well oiled machine to accomplish a common goal. His research pays off and showcases the characters in a realistic way.
I loved Revenge and the characters that stuck together through thick and thin, no matter the danger they faced. To get an inside look at how they operate makes me appreciate what those in service sacrifice for us, that sit comfy, cozy going about our daily business.

I have never climbed a tree in my life.
But I suppose there’s a first time for everything.
It’s a gaspingly cold mid-January morning with an ice-blue
sky overhead – not exactly the ideal conditions in which to be lurking on the
pavement outside a stranger’s house, nervously eyeing up the oak tree in their
garden.
Camera gripped in my freezing hands, I stamp my feet and
blow out misty breath as I psyche myself up to be bold. I’ve driven sixty miles
from Newtown, where I live, to the pretty, chocolate-box village of Sunnybrook
in Surrey – with the ultimate goal of climbing this very tree and taking photos
of the view from up there.
The tree is almost exactly how I pictured it in my
imagination – old and gnarled with broad, evenly-spaced branches. My eye homes
in on one branch in particular. It reaches out to the left, a little over six
feet from the ground; the perfect place to sit and gaze out over the village
green and the duck pond. (As I knew it would be.)
Tears fill my eyes. But I’m smiling, too.
It’s all in a good cause.
Stop dithering and just do it!
When I push it open, the garden gate swings inwards without
creaking and the windows remain blank. I drop my bag by the gate and head for
the tree.
It’s amazing how fear can give you almost super-human
powers. Under normal circumstances, I’d need someone to give me a bunk-up into
this tree. But today, with adrenalin pumping through my system, I manage to
swing myself up there with no problems at all . . .

Books from the Backlog is a fun way to feature some of those
neglected books sitting on your bookshelf unread. If you are anything
like me, you might be surprised by some of the unread books hiding in
your stacks.
Emma Hammond is a normal
young woman living in New York City whose life changes forever when one
misstep brings her very close to death. Luckily, Alex Thompson, a
handsome stranger (who also happens to be a vampire), jumps in to save
her, turning Emma into a vampire. She quickly discovers the numerous
advantages (no more allergies, glasses, or acne) and slight drawbacks
(wanting to eat her boyfriend) of joining the ranks of the creatures of
the night. But Emma soon finds out her new undead life isn’t all it’s
cracked up to be when she gets pulled in to an age-old dispute between
two feuding vampire clans.
I picked this up on an Amazon free day on 4.12.13. I am all into vampires, so this one is a no brainer. It’s only 216 pages, so it should be a quick read.
Jane Blythe has been entertaining me with her stories for some time now, and Forgotten did not let me down. Even though I knew a lot of what would happen from previous novels, it still felt like the first time. Glad I put some distance in between books.
OMG! OMG! OMG! JANE! JANE! JANE! Even though I knew a lot of what would happen because I read the previous novels, it still felt like the first time and you blew me away.
I love these characters and it is so wonderful being back with them again. They are all flawed in their own ways, but I would still want them by my side in a clutch situation. Jane has put them through hell…repeatedly…and does not give them a break in Forgotten.
Their past comes back to haunt them, over and over again. Secrets will be exposed…and trouble, which is Tessa’s middle name, will find them.
Tessa and Parker’s inability to get past their own insecurities and trust in each other causes a separation they may never be able to overcome. Do we ever really know a person? People are not always what they seem.
Jane has brought all the events in the previous books into play and wraps it up in a NOT pretty package. She has no trouble killing off her characters and the loss of this one was gut wrenching. Even though I knew it was going to happen, I still had all the feels I did the first time around, maybe even more.
The villains are monstrous, but I understand how they got that way. I see their motivation, empathize with their pain, but they know right from wrong and there can be no forgiveness.
It broke my heart when Maisy…and then Jane finished me off with… Tears were rolling down my face as….I couldn’t hold them back. Sometimes knowing what’s coming doesn’t change anything.
You only get one shot at life and you had to make it count.We’re all responsible for our own choices.”

I knew from the beginning that she wiould be a force to be reckoned with and these disgusting creatures, humans if you can call them that, human traffickers, that walk the earth, will pay. I would love to be there to help her. She is strong, resourceful, and I have no doubt, SHE WILL PREVAIL.
It is EXTREMELY hard to watch, but I truly believe these things happen in our world today and we should all be aware of it. I cringed, wanted to puke, scream and yell, but I knew she would prevail and these sick fucks are going to pay. All my feelings were in an uproar and I can’t tell you how disgusted I am with the villains, especially the woman who betrays her.
I do love stories, the darker the better, and I love it even better when the wronged rise up and make the scum of the earth pay! And I cringed, had to look away at times, but I peeked through my fingers. I had to see them pay.
