Military Romance Review – Wicked Scars by Jane Blythe @jblytheauthor #wickedscars #bearspotspublications

Amazon / KindleUnlimited / Goodreads

Jane Blythe is a must read author for me and I am excited to read Wicked Scars, Prey Security: Bravo Team #6. I have been reading about Beth for some time and am very curious about what happened to her when she went missing for eight months. She has amnesia, so she can’t tell them.

Axel “Axe” Lindon, Beth’s husband, has the patience of a saint, but he is far from one. He will do whatever is necessary to help his wife, Beth, putting his life on the line to get the answers she needs.

The explosive beginning sets the hook, and we are off and running.

Jane Blythe is great at putting her characters ‘through the ringer’? The danger and suspense ramp up as the story progresses. But, I did run across some bumps along the way and had those moments where I thought, nope, not going there. Wicked Scars was not my favorite, but I was eager to find out Beth’s story, so there was no way I would turn away. The questions asked were given the answers that we all, readers and characters alike, were looking for.

That’s okay that Wicked Scars wasn’t my favorite, though, because I know there will be another story, another book, another series coming my way and I can hardly wait to enter any world that Jane Blythe has created.

My thanks go out to Jane Blythe for the opportunity to share Wicked Scars, Prey Security: Bravo Team #6 with you.

4 Stars

Amnesia has stolen everything from her.

Beth Lindon doesn’t remember a single thing about who she or what happened to her to cause her mind to check out and blank out an entire lifetime. All she knows is she’s supposedly married to the man who saved her life six years ago. When her husband is almost killed in an explosion she knows she either has to remember of she’ll lose the man everyone tells her she was madly in love with.

For Axel “Axe” Lindon there is nothing worse than having your wife back in your life but being unable to comfort her, help her heal, because she has no idea who you are. His determination to get answers almost got himself and his teammates killed but he’s not stopping. Not until his wife remembers him and she’s back in his arms where she belongs.

But things aren’t as they seem, danger is circling closer, and without Beth’s memories they’re all sitting ducks.

Military Romance Review – Buried Scars by Jane Blythe @jblytheauthor #buriedscars #bearspotpublications

Amazon / KindleUnlimited / Goodreads

I love Jane Blythe’s writing and am always excited to return to her world of strong male and female characters that rise above the danger and pitfalls that rock their world. The characters are damaged, but that makes them love life fiercely, to hold onto and appreciate the moments of love and laughter.

Numerous characters have a back story, which Jane fills in with bits and pieces of past books, so that each book ‘can’ stand alone. Series characters make appearances in other series, because Prey Security will come to the aid of their ‘family’ whenever the need arises.

Elle is in danger and they kidnap her daughter, Ruthie, to force her compliance. She seeks the help of Prey Security, who send Rafe, Panther, Neal to the rescue. He has a young son, Andy, that stole my heart…and I think he will steal yours too.

Jane Blythe delivers blow after blow to her characters. Think you can figure out when and what the next twist will be? Good luck with that. There was a stumble or two, for me, but I get it. And, we still have to find out what happened to Beth for the eight months she had been missing. Stay tuned for Wicked Scars.

Thanks Jane, for the opportunity to review Buried Scars.

He’s her only chance at saving her daughter’s life.

Becoming a mother was the best thing to ever happen to Elle Cavey. It was her first time experiencing unconditional love and her seven-year-old daughter is the center of her world. Which makes knowing she’s responsible for her daughter’s abduction that much worse. When the cops and FBI tell her there’s nothing else to do she only has one last shot at getting her child back.

Rafe “Panther” Neal is a father, if anyone can save Elle’s daughter it’s him. At least he prays he can because each moment he spends with the strong yet fragile mother he falls a little further. But he has scars, and when they rear their ugly heads it threatens his chance at building the family he’s always longed for.

Failure means losing the woman he’s falling for, her daughter, and his own son.

Review – Covert Risk by Jane Blythe @jblytheauthor #romanticsuspense

Amazon / Goodreads

Jane Blythe writes some of the best romantic suspense novels I have ever read, fast paced and easy to read.. They may run in series, but each can stand alone. Each has a hunkalicious knight in shining armor to go with a damsel in distress. In Covert Risk, Lila and Surf are in the spotlight.

Surf doesn’t love ’em and then leave ’em, but he is a one night stand kind of guy. He uses sex as a coping mechanism and fights his desire to keep Lila in his life. He would be putting her in danger, so he dumps her, rather cruelly, too.

Lila finds out she’s pregnant. Since he won’t answer her calls, she goes to him.

“It’s like a damn horror movie, “Arrow muttered. “Every time you think it’s over it’s not.”

We have had an ongoing, overthrow the country, story line running through this series, but that is what ties all the characters together. The immediate danger is solved, but there is a lingering danger that will be dealt with in the next and final book of the series, Savage Risk, which ties everything up in a neat little package.

Obsession – Deadly Risk by Jane Blythe @jblytheauthor #romanticsuspense

Amazon / KindleUnlimited / Goodreads

MY REVIEW

Storm Gallagher was a dangerous man. He’s not a stupid man, but when his plans, in the previous series (Protecting Dove) failed, he had enough men to start over. BUT, he needed his sister, Mackenzie Arden to be the coup de grace. He is sick, demented, cruel, brutal, and everything bad you never want to run across.

Because Prey already had him in their sights, Bear rescues her from Storm’s clutches. She had been stuffed in a hole in the ground, beaten, fed scraps and, even though she was weak and injured, when they fled, she pulled her own weight. They saved each other more than once, before the rest of the team pulled them out of danger.

I love that they had to race through the woods, kill or be killed, and swim for their lives. My heart was racing as much as hers when the two men came across them, barely able to fight. Mackenzie is strong, capable, determined, and very much attracted to Bear. He’s attracted to her too, but when it comes time to part company, he doesn’t even come to say goodbye.

Of course, that doesn’t last for long when the team has to rescue her again. Having a house full of hunkalicious males does not stop Storm from trying to flush them out. Once he makes up his mind to be there, they do not hesitate to admit their feelings. That is, until his ex wife manipulates a situation. The thing I like about it, Mackenzie did fall for it and run, but she called another Prey operative and had no intention of running alone.

Jane Blythe Is pretty darn good at creating fascinating characters that grab me and don’t let me go. It’s fun to have a gruff, growly teddy Bear be putty in a woman’s hands.

Action packed. Intense danger. Suspense abounds. Even though Mackenzie and Bear have their happy ever after, the series is not over and Prey Security is still on the job.

SYNOPSIS (from Amazon)

The last thing he wants is to fall for her.

Mackenzie Arden knows she’ll never be free of her brother’s violent obsession with her, and now she’s his prisoner and an unwitting pawn in his plot. When she’s rescued by a man who is as intriguing as he is intimidating, she finally starts to feel safe for the first time in her life, only he wants nothing to do with her.

Luca “Bear” Jackson has been betrayed too many times to put his trust in anyone. Especially a woman who might be embroiled in her brother’s terrorist plot. Try as he might to stop it from happening Mackenzie manages to make him feel things he has no interest in feeling.

But the danger isn’t over and if Bear can’t set aside his fears of being hurt again Mackenzie will pay the ultimate price.

Child Trafficking – Little Girl Lost by Jane Blythe @jblytheauthor

.

Well, the subject for Little Girl Lost by Jane Blythe is sure to get emotions in an uproar. I mean, how degraded must someone be to kidnap, torture, rape and sell a child? I love walking the dark side with my characters and Jane Blythe makes that so easy to do.

Little Girl Lost (Detective Parker Bell #4)

Amazon / Goodreads

MY REVIEW

I have just finished reading Jane Blythe’s novel, Dead or Alive and she left me with a tease that I had to follow up…immediately, so I began reading Little Girl Lost. I’m happy I didn’t wait, because everything I wanted to know about Tessa is now reveals…at least I think so. She is such a private person, holding tightly to her secrets, it is hard to know for sure.

Just ask Detective Parker Bell. Her loves her and made her his wife, yet he knows there are many secrets she has buried from her tragic past. After all, she has walked in these children’s footsteps and, even though she managed to escape with her life, survivor’s guilt hounds her every breath.

“You know you don’t have to do everything yourself all the time, Tessa.”

“It’s okay to let people help you sometimes.”

It is almost impossible to put down a Jane Blythe thriller because she fills her novels with emotion provoking content, tremendous amounts of tension making me feel the urgency of her characters and biting suspense as I wonder who will survive. The recurring characters have had more than their share of misfortune and hardship, but does that stop Jane Blythe from piling on more? OH NO. BUT, I love it. Does that make me as twisted as some of her characters? I hope not. After all, you have to go into their minds to be able to do what’s necessary, whether it’s taking them down or just trying to get into their head.

I have been with Tessa since the beginning and I understand her difficulty in believing and trusting, letting others into her world. She has been betrayed, used, tortured and abused, and I understand her need to keep her secrets. Tessa has her sweet, tender, vulnerable moments, but if I am ever in need of a kickass savior, I would love to have her at my side. She will sacrifice everything to save others.

There are plenty of villains to go around, but John Doe…I see him and I see why he does what he does, but I have no forgiveness for the loss of an innocent child. I do love a villain that creates ambivalent emotions and Jane Blythe does that with John Doe. The rest…do unto others…

GOODREADS BLURB

If she can’t give up her secrets she’ll lose everything.

After crashing their car in the woods Detective Parker Bell and his wife Tessa stumble upon a blood covered child and find themselves thrown headfirst into a nightmare eerily familiar to the one Tessa found herself in sixteen years ago.

Forced to confront a past she would rather forget, every decision Tessa makes could cost her everything she has grown to love. Faced with several missing children cases he knows are related to Tessa’s childhood nightmare, Parker must decide how hard to push his wife to get the answers he wants, and if he is even ready to face the truth of what happened to Tessa when she was kidnapped as a child.

Jane has loved reading and writing since she can remember. She writes dark and disturbing crime/mystery/suspense with some romance thrown in because, well, who doesn’t love romance? She has one completed series, Detective Parker Bell, and one new series, Count to Ten.

When she’s not writing Jane loves to read, bake, go to the beach, ski, horse ride, and watch Disney movies. She has a black belt in Taekwondo, and a 200+ collection of teddy bears. She has the world’s two most sweet and pretty Dalmatians, Ivory and Pearl. Oh, and she also enjoys spending time with family and friends!
