Books From The Backlog – Matt Archer: Monster Summer @KendraHighley

Books from the Backlog is a fun way to feature some of those neglected books sitting on your bookshelf unread.  If you are anything like me, you might be surprised by some of the unread books hiding in your stacks.

If you would like to join in, swing by Carole’s Random Life in Books

My last Backlog post was in April of last year, but I am determined to mine through my TBR and clean it up…a bit.

GOODREADS BLURB

In this companion short-story to Matt Archer: Monster Hunter, fifteen-year-old Matt Archer finds himself in the Australian Outback on the trail of his latest targets…and hunting hyper-intelligent, mutated Dingoes is not his idea of a great summer vacation.

Making things more complicated, Matt’s Uncle Mike–aka Major Tannen–is his C.O. for this mission. To Matt’s consternation, the major’s new fiancée, Captain Julie Hunter, is also along for the trip.

When Captain Hunter disappears during a routine scouting trip, it’s up to Matt to help his uncle find her before it’s too late.

I added Matt Archer: Monster Summer by Kendra C Highley on 3.14.13 but got it as an Amazon freebie on 1.20.13. Why did I add it you ask? Just look at the fabulous cover, then add in the blurb and I am caught…hook, line and sinker.

How about you? Does that cover make you want to visit the Australian Outback?

Sherry’s Shelves & Our First Vaxxication 5.16 – 5.22.21 #weeklyupdate

Sunday Post

Hi Everyone. I do have some news to share on my activities as I feel more comfortable about getting out and about. I went to the dentist after almost a year and a half. I got a clean bill of health and I was very pleasantly surprised. Mr Wonderful coaxed me out on a vaxxication. After the first day, I became more comfortable. Most people were following Covid protocol. There was social distancing, masks, cleaning stations and no one came to your room. The weather was iffy, high winds the whole time and some rain. I did do a ride along with Mr Wonderful while he played a round of golf, after the rain had passed. I still can’t play, but it was nice to be out and about. We came home with more money than we left with, and I can’t ask for much more than that. Some fun, some laughs, and a breath of fresh air. YAY!

Sherry’s Shelves #194 – Vacation Or Stacation?

Sherry’s Shelves #193 is my weekly update from 7.21.19 – 7.27.19.

LATEST HAPPENINGS

Hello fellow bloggers. I hope you have all had a great week, filled with family, fun and a lot of great books. I’ve been busy doing the usual, piddling around the house and the yard, doing some reading and blogging, and more reading and blogging.

As the summer winds down…OMG, July is almost over, I know a lot of you are doing school shopping and planning. I don’t have any of that to think of any more, but I do think of vacation. We tend to stacation for the summer, but as the fall approaches and the vacation season is winding down, we have begun planning. I’m not going to say where we are going, or when, but you will probably be able to tell. I will still be blogging, but it will be at a minimum and I will be posting a lot of pics after I get back.

Do you have a vacation planned? If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?
