Tackling The TBR – 6.14 – 6.20.20

I got the idea and the motivation to start doing this post from All The Book Blog Names Are Taken. It has helped me to keep track of my reading shelf as far as current events and I also started doing a post for Books From The Backlog to tidy up my shelf. I feel better about my out of control TBR and have even knocked off a couple of those old ones that had been hanging around for years. COME ON….JOIN IN.

Some of these may look familiar and that’s because I had a 2 month free Kindle Unlimited and read and read and read those. This is the last week and then I will start knocking some of these off my list.

Hi All. I am watching College Gameday as I prepare this post. All I can say is GO BLUE. Do you watch football or have a favorite team? Well, not really a lot happening around the fundinmental household. Been doing some reading, some blogging, some yardwork and I had to visit the dentist. Man, oh man, do I hate doing that, but I have gotten much better. JUST DO IT and then it is done, instead of all the anticipation and dread by putting it off. We are getting some rain today. It’s just a drizzle really, cloudy and dark, but we so desperately needed it. I can’t even remember the last time it rained. Still warm and enjoying the outdoors. What’s the weather like in your neck of the woods?

LATEST HAPPENINGS

Hello everyone. Glad to see you stopping in. As I write this, it is raining. It has been super sunny and 90 degrees, so I am happy to see it. The grass was getting so dry it started to crunch under my feet. I haven’t had to worry about watering, until last week. Even the first day of watering, the rain paid a quick visit. Isn’t that how it goes? But, it’s all good. Maybe this will wash out some of the pollen that seems to be playing havoc with my allergies. I haven’t been able to work in the yard without the help of Mr Wonderful, so it is in definite need of clean up. I am going to hire someone to come by and whip the yard in shape, maybe do a couple of projects. I am also going to, for the first time ever, have someone come by and do some house cleaning. Mr Wonderful does a good job, but I don’t think it’s fair, with him working a full time job and two freelance jobs, to have to do so much. It won’t cost that much and it will be a relief to have it done. I have caught up on most of my reviews for the books I have read. Just have two left right now. I have been reading books on my kindle that are documents, trying to clean them off. Some are pretty old and I think there will be some DNFs, just because I have so many books I want to read I will never have time to read them all. I need to be immortal to do everything I want to do. LOL Have a super week!

LOL I know, come August, I’ll probably to asking, “Why doesn’t it rain. Hello. Welcome to another edition of Sherry’s Shelves. Glad the weather has been mild and I have been able to open the house up, letting in some freshly pollinated air. Tis the season of Claritin, Flonase and Musinex. LOL One day it even got in the seventies. I haven’t been up to much this week. Still messing around in the guest room, cleaning and purging. I have a lot of bookshelves in there, but I have five more in the living room. I am trying to figure out how I want to organize them. That’s the hardest part, the rest is just dusting and moving. Well, I guess this is my Happy New Year Sunday Post. I don’t know about anyone else, but the flu bug hit me very hard. I was out of it for two weeks and am just beginning to feel human again. I will be getting the flu shot from here on out, even though I hear it is not helping everyone this year.

I’m really glad I had worked hard at blogging ahead, but now I have used most of my posts.

I hope all of you are healthy and happy, looking forward to the new year.

Oh man, alien dinosaurs…I am very excited about winning about winning The Quintaglio Ascension trilogy by Robert Sawyer. I believe there are new covers, but I am very happy with these signed editions.

I couldn’t find how I won No Fury Like That by Lisa de Nikolits, but I look forward to reading it.

I won a signed copy of Cress by Marissa Meyer from a Goodreads giveaway. I had read Cinder and a couple other stories of hers on Wattpad and loved them, so I am very excited to read more.

I added more books, some freebies and some for review, but I just don’t feel up to adding them. Stay well and have a wonderful week.

Hello and welcome fellow bloggies. I was lucky to be able to play golf twice this week. Last Sunday was fabulous weather, but Thursday was cloudy, cool and a bit damp. Still…a bad day at golf is better than a good day at work. The weather warms up a bit during the day, but I am sad to see the hot days of 80 degrees are probably gone until next year. 😥  I don’t know about you, but I love feeling the sun on my skin, hearing the flop of my flips and jumping into the pool at the drop of the hat. My biggest consolation is…we rarely have any snow or ice here in Florida.
